Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of Data Platforms & Engineering, you will design, automate, and operate scalable, reliable data platforms—primarily Databricks—within Conagra’s Azure environment. You will enable consistent, high‑quality data engineering and data product delivery through CI/CD, Infrastructure‑as‑Code, and robust Disaster Recovery, applying site reliability engineering principles to drive automation, observability, and resilience across the data platform ecosystem.

A Taste of Your Responsibilities

Data Platform Engineering (Primary Focus)

  • Build, operate, and optimize Databricks workspaces, clusters, jobs, storage integrations, and platform configurations.

  • Manage workspace governance, cluster policies, secrets, access controls, and cost guardrails.

  • Automate platform provisioning, onboarding, and environment consistency through Infrastructure‑as‑Code.

CI/CD for Data Engineering & Data Products

  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting consistent deployment of notebooks, transformations, libraries, and data products while supporting test‑driven development standards.

  • Standardize data product delivery using reusable pipeline templates and paved‑road deployment frameworks.

  • Enforce guardrails and quality gates to ensure reliable, safe, and compliant data product releases.

Resiliency & Disaster Recovery

  • Strengthen platform resilience and Disaster Recovery readiness across environments.

  • Participate in on‑call rotations for platform incidents.

  • Execute runbooks, lead postmortems, and drive improvements for platform reliability.

  • Perform scheduled chaos testing and Disaster Recovery preparedness checks.

Ingredients Required for Your Success

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years in platform engineering, data platform operations, site reliability engineering, DevOps, or related roles.

  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience supporting Databricks in a production environment.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed systems, data pipelines, and system integrations.

  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python or Bash.

  • Familiarity with cloud fundamentals (Azure or Google Cloud Platform), networking concepts, and identity and access management.

  • Extensive experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure‑as‑Code, and platform‑level automation.

  • Experience with operational excellence practices such as monitoring, alerting, incident response, and root‑cause analysis.

  • Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with engineering teams and business partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years operating cloud environments, with preference for Azure.

  • Experience with Terraform, policy‑as‑code, observability tooling, and Disaster Recovery engineering.

  • Skill in influencing platform strategy and mentoring engineering teams on site reliability engineering and DevOps practices for data engineering.
