We are seeking an HR Business Partner based at our Kotka, Finland site. This role is part of the Finland HR team and supports seven IFF locations across Finland, with primary day-to-day focus on the Kotka plant.
The role is on-site at the Kotka plant (minimum 4 days per week). In close partnership with the Country HR Manager for Finland, the HR Business Partner provides a combination of on-site and virtual HR support to additional IFF plants and offices in Kantvik, Jokioinen, Naantali, Jämsänkoski, Hanko and Vaasa.
IFF has recently implemented Workday and introduced a new HR operating model that empowers managers to self serve directly through the system. The local HR team is now in a post implementation phase, focusing on simplifying and optimizing HR processes, building manager and HR capability, and updating and aligning local HR policies and practices to fully leverage Workday functionality.
This position is part of the Nordic HR team, with colleagues based in Finland and Denmark, and works closely with regional and global HR stakeholders.
Where You’ll Make a Difference
Reporting to the Nordic Cluster HR Director, you will be part of the HR team supporting 500+ employees across our 7 locations in Finland.
Work closely with HR Shared Services to ensure seamless delivery of HR services (onboarding, offboarding, lifecycle processes).
Collaborate with and support our global HR teams incl. Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Total Rewards (Compensation), People Analytics and People Connect (HR Shared Services)
Ensure compliance with Finnish employment legislation and partner with managers to support employee relations cases effectively.
Champion employee engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts and cultural initiatives.
Monitor HR metrics and provide data-driven insights to inform business decisions and improve employee experience.
What Makes You the Right Fit
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Legal or related field.
Proven experience in similar roles or HR BP roles, ideally with shared services (tiered delivery model) experience.
Strong knowledge of Finnish employment law and HR compliance requirements.
Experience working in a global or matrixed organization and unionized environment.
Excellent communication (Finnish and English), stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across global and local teams.
Team player, passionate about simplifying and standardizing end-to-end HR processes to improve both manager and employee experiences.
How Would You Stand Out?
Proficiency in Workday or similar HRIS systems.
Chemical Industry and Food Industry Collective Agreement knowledge.
Experience with defining compliance requirements for HR policies in Finland.
