Job Overview
 

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Consumer Experience Manager to serve as the architect of Lilly Saudi Arabia’s consumer engagement vision across the cardiometabolic portfolio. This role sets the strategic direction for how consumers and patients experience Lilly’s brands – from disease awareness through to activation and retention – across digital, social, paid media, and traditional channels.

The Consumer Experience Manager owns the consumer strategy, media buying direction, creative vision, and impact measurement framework. The role is responsible for shaping the overall consumer journey design, defining media investment priorities, directing consumer content creative development, and governing performance across the portfolio. Working at the intersection of brand, digital, medical, regulatory, and agency partners, this role requires strategic depth, strong creative and media acumen, and the ability to lead and guide execution through the Consumer Experience Associate.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Consumer Strategy & Vision Define and own Lilly Saudi Arabia’s consumer experience strategy across the cardiometabolic portfolio. Lead the development of consumer journey frameworks, ensuring each touchpoint is strategically designed to move consumers through the engagement funnel. Translate global consumer experience frameworks into a KSA-relevant strategy, accounting for SFDA regulations, cultural dynamics, and Saudi market specifics. Provide strategic input into affiliate brand planning cycles, ensuring the consumer agenda is embedded into therapeutic area strategies.
  • Media Strategy & Investment Direction Set the media buying strategy across all consumer-facing channels – digital, social, programmatic, search, and traditional media. Define media investment priorities and budget allocation across campaigns and therapeutic areas. Direct the media agency on planning, negotiation, and optimization to ensure reach, frequency, and cost-efficiency against target consumer segments. Own the media ROI framework and ensure all media investments deliver measurable returns aligned with business objectives.
  • Creative Direction & Content Strategy Set the creative vision and content strategy for all consumer-facing communications. Direct agency partners on brand positioning, messaging architecture, and creative execution across digital assets, social media, video, educational materials, and campaign visuals. Ensure all creative output is on-brand, compliant with SFDA advertising guidelines, and resonates with Saudi consumer audiences. Oversee global-to-local content adaptation, ensuring strategic intent is preserved while localizing for the Saudi market.
  • Impact Measurement & Strategic Insight Set the measurement strategy for the consumer experience portfolio – defining KPIs, success metrics, and reporting frameworks across reach, engagement, conversion, and consumer experience quality. Commission and interpret consumer research, social listening, and performance analytics. Translate insights into strategic recommendations for portfolio optimization and future investment planning. Present performance and strategic insights to BU leadership and regional stakeholders with data-driven confidence.
  • Consumer Insights & Innovation Lead the collection, analysis, and application of consumer insights – including social listening, patient journey mapping, and market research. Identify emerging trends in consumer health, digital engagement, and media consumption in Saudi Arabia. Translate insights into strategic opportunities and innovative consumer engagement approaches that differentiate Lilly in the market.
  • Agency Governance & Partnership Management Manage senior agency relationships across creative, digital, media, and research partners. Ensure strategic partnerships are structured, governed, and evaluated against agreed performance standards. Evaluate and onboard new agency partners as needed. Provide strategic briefs and performance governance to ensure all outputs meet Lilly’s quality, compliance, and brand standards.
  • Compliance & Governance Govern the end-to-end compliance of consumer initiatives – ensuring all activities are executed in accordance with SFDA guidelines, Lilly’s global compliance standards, and applicable advertising regulations. Serve as the senior accountable point for cross-functional stakeholders on all consumer experience workstreams.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership Work closely with Marketing, Brand, Medical, Regulatory, Finance, and Global teams to ensure the consumer agenda is embedded into business planning. Build consumer marketing capability across the affiliate by coaching brand and commercial teams on consumer engagement principles and data-driven decision-making. Represent the consumer experience agenda in affiliate leadership discussions and cross-functional forums.
     

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • MBA or relevant postgraduate degree is preferred.
     

Experience

  • Minimum of 6+ years experience in consumer marketing, brand strategy, media planning, or commercial leadership.
  • Experience in FMCG, healthcare, digital health, media, or other consumer-driven industries is strongly valued.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead consumer strategies across multi-channel environments including digital, social, paid media, and content marketing.
  • Experience managing agency relationships at a senior level.
  • Experience in the Saudi and/or Gulf market is preferred.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to define consumer vision and translate it into actionable plans.
  • Strong creative and media acumen with experience directing media investments and creative development.
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience in performance analytics, consumer research, and ROI measurement.
  • Cross-functional leadership capability with the ability to align diverse stakeholders in a matrix organization.
  • Knowledge of SFDA advertising guidelines and pharmaceutical compliance frameworks is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.
     

Working Conditions

  • Travel: Occasional domestic and international travel for agency meetings, campaign activations, and global alignment sessions.
  • Environment: Primarily office-based with regular engagement with external agency partners.
