The Position
Head of Supply Chain will be responsible for planning, supply chain configuration, and inventory management to support affiliates, global direct materials procurement and/or production/manufacturing operations, with a special focus on a product portfolio. Where applicable you will ensure that supply chain activities are conducted in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) requirements and Roche corporate standards. You will also facilitate production planning and inventory management interactions and communications with local, regional and global partners, including resolution for any issues associated with inventories, production and non-production plans or other supply chain orchestration activities.
Together with the team, you drive for continuous improvement, operational excellence, innovation, cost containment, and high quality processes across supply chain processes.
Your Impact:
- Lead activities of the designated portfolio within Integrated Planning
- Define annual and future global supply chain configuration, planning and inventory management related business strategies, objectives, plans, timelines and metrics
- Determine budgets, human resources matters and allocation of resources; ensuring agreement with internal customers, partners and other stakeholders
- Lead the ideation of new supply chain channels throughout the pipeline portfolio. And I would say: lead or oversee and not drive because it is the CVSP to drive. (unless you don't want the Head to be the CVSP as well)
- Coach and lead a team of Supply Chain Leaders to ensure:
- Best-in-class performance of core supply chain configuration, planning and inventory management, and lead time reduction activities across the assigned segment.
- Effective supply chain representation in Technical Development Teams and Technical Product Teams with appropriate input into product strategic plans.
- Strong collaboration with Global Product Strategy (GPS) to understand product demand insights and implement agreed forecasts for the product supply plan
- Explanations for supply plan variances are clear to relevant partners
- Supply chain risk assessments are provided into product and portfolio risk management.
- Serve as a primary liaison to internal management and external sources regarding issues impacting the global product supply chain
- Oversee, guide and ensure effective and timely supply chain product governance for the product, e.g. decision making in case of supply issues, and that possible constraints are solved according to business priorities.
- Oversee, guide and ensure product supply chain compliance, such as regulatory, trade, and quality systems, and related data accuracy, accurate supply chain maps, etc.
- Support performance and professional development of the team through coaching, mentoring, and sharing feedback
- Enable strong self-organization and self-management on team
Who you are:
- You hold BS/MS Degree (life sciences, engineering and/or business preferred)
- You bring 10 or more years related professional experience ideally gained within the pharmaceutical industry across various disciplines, strong SC experience (HQ, MU and commercial) with a 5 or more years people management experience including leading cross-functional teams
- You have experience leading strategic, business and SC planning processes
- You have solid experience with planning systems and E2E Supply Chain knowledge
- You are resulted oriented and are able to possess advanced negotiation skills, are able to apply logical reasoning and influence
- You are able to work autonomously, solve problems and take decision
- You fluently speak and write in English
- You have outstanding organizational and time management skills: proven abilities to manage multiple, often complex and sometimes competing, objectives, goals and other priorities to effective and efficient conclusion
- You have strong change management skills and a proven track record of effectively driving organizational change and innovation
- You demonstrate high ability to communicate confidently and consistently. Clear and eloquent oral, written, and presentation skills suitable for Executive management that distills supply plan scenario details into clear messages.
- You have proven effectiveness managing budgets and other resources, consistently meeting financial targets and optimizing resource allocation, and identifying cost tradeoffs.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills: consistently extracts optimized business results through skillful collaboration with others
- Interpersonal and partnering skills: has developed and cultivated strong and enduring internal/external relationships
