A Day in the Life:

The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for maintaining and growing reagent revenue across a defined group of laboratory accounts within the ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD). This role focuses on retaining, defending, and expanding business within Reference Labs, Hospitals, and Health System Laboratories.

This individual will lead both the development and execution of account strategies related to Autoimmunity and Allergy portfolios within their assigned territory. A key component of the role includes conducting regular Customer Business Reviews in partnership with internal commercial teams to identify and act on growth opportunities and optimize laboratory utilization.

The Strategic Account Manager serves as the primary liaison between customer stakeholders—including procurement, laboratory leadership, medical directors, and outreach teams—and IDD commercial partners such as Regional Managers, Health System Executives, Strategic Account Executives, and Technical Sales Specialists.

A strong understanding of the laboratory diagnostics industry, strategic sales methodologies, and the ability to communicate clinical value propositions is essential for success in this role.

This is a field-based position with significant travel (up to 75%) across Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa.

Keys to Success:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Life Sciences or Business preferred)

Experience:

  • 5+ years of senior-level sales experience in Diagnostics Sales preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven success in diagnostics or medical device sales environments
  • Strong strategic selling and account management skills
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of U.S. healthcare market dynamics
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize complex information to support customer needs

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 75% within the assigned territory
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, including a drug screening

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Illinois is $65,000.00–$100,000.00.
