Title:

Sr.Accountant

KBR’s Mission Technology Solutions (MTS) group is looking for Senior Accountant to support the Program Planning and Control activities (PP&C). 

Summary Section  

Responsible for performing assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within project & cost accounting and project controls for the preliminary or definitive estimates for projects under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision. Displays core competencies by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills.

Responsibilities: 

Responsible for applying knowledge and skills to complete detailed analysis of project and financial information. Program Planning and Control analysis for various contract types and sizes, interacting with all levels of Project Management and colleagues in other functional areas/departments. Activities include:

  • Perform unique and complex accounting and analytical tasks, including accruals, revenue recognition and result analysis, Billing and Billing coordination.
  • Analyze cost trends to correct errors and provide forward guidance to maximize revenue and profit and minimize cost variances. 
  • Read and input data into a tracker used for historical reference of contract actions and changes received in contract award and modification documents
  • Record actual/committed cost and workhours, development of project variances, and trending analysis of commitments and expenditures.
  • Maintain a tracker used for historical reference of material requisitions
  • Maintain a tracker and follow up with cost re-class requests sent to our shared services
  • Coordinate with procurement, material managers, and engineering work group leads pertaining to essential items of supply and completion of job progress milestones through scheduling.
  • Estimate future cost calculations based on labor productivity, material price increases, subcontracts, wage rates and risk analysis.
  • Develop and control baselines, budgets, and forecasts using program resource estimates with appropriately applied rates and factors. 
  • Monitor schedule/milestones to facilitate estimates at complete (EAC) and process scope changes.
  • Develop price/cost estimates utilizing complex pricing concepts and applications. 
  • Develop Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), perform maintenance and charge number control. 
  • Analyze program funding requirements and track subcontractor costs and vendor invoices. 
    Application of FAR, CAS and government accounting standards. 
  • Establish financial controls, procedures, systems, and forecasting techniques to evaluate contract/program status and ensure compliance with SOX, government, and customer requirements.
  • Accurate and timely completion of required internal and external reporting requirements

Qualifications including Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Recognized professional qualification (CA/CWA/ACCA/CPA or CIMA) with relevant work-experience of 4+ years or Semi-qualified professionals / undergraduate / Post graduate degree in commerce with minimum 8 years of relevant work experience
  • Subject matter expert / Single point of contact role in the area of activities assigned
  • Would involve transition (onsite or remotely) and responsible to stabilize, standardize and continuously identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of transitioned processes
  • Individual contributor role involving highly complex activities and would report into a Supervisor / Manager (as decided by the business)
  • Must interact well with all levels of Project Management and colleagues in other functional areas/departments
  • Strong accounting knowledge - provide full spectrum of accounting support including handling of full set of accounts; management financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, anti-corruption and SOX compliance
  • Experience in Project Accounting or Project Control activities for multinational engineering and construction companies or experience in F&A of multinational companies including F&A shared services preferred
  • Must be capable of working independently under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Familiar with often changing deadlines, inquiries, and related pressures and able to handle multiple tasks
  • Candidates are expected to possess analytical skills with attention to details
  • Work requires professional English written and good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Expected to be pro-active and should be able to create strong working relationships with global stakeholders and influence with consultative stakeholder management approach

  • Should be flexible regarding working days and working timings (shift timings and working days based on business requirement)

Preferred Qualifications Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Recognized professional qualification (CA/CWA/ACCA/CPA or CIMA) with relevant work-experience of 4+ years or Semi-qualified professionals / undergraduate / Post graduate degree in commerce with minimum 8+ years of relevant work experience
  • Candidates with hands-on experience in Costpoint, SAP, FCCS, OnBase, MS Office etc. preferred
