The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) Functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong Transportation Management (TM) integration experience to support the Agile TM Team on the Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS), a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation program.

This role is critical to enabling seamless order-to-cash (OTC) and logistics execution processes that support complex transportation operations. You will work within an Agile team to design, configure, and optimize SD processes, ensuring alignment with transportation planning, shipment execution, and financial integration. This position requires deep functional expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence solution design across cross-functional domains in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment

Responsibilities:
SAP SD Functional Expertise (Order-to-Cash)

  • Serve as the functional authority for SAP S/4HANA Sales & Distribution (SD), including: Order Management (sales orders, scheduling, ATP), Pricing, billing, and invoicing processes, Delivery processing and shipping integration

  • Design and configure SD solutions that support complex transportation and logistics scenarios.

  • Ensure accurate and efficient order-to-cash execution, including billing and revenue-related processes.

Transportation Management (TM) Integration

  • Lead and support integration between SAP SD and Transportation Management (TM), ensuring: Seamless flow from order creation to transportation planning and execution, Alignment of delivery, shipment, and freight processes

  • Collaborate with TM functional teams to design end-to-end logistics solutions that optimize transportation planning and execution.

  • Support freight-related processes, including freight cost capture, settlement integration, and visibility.

Agile Delivery & Product Support

  • Operate within an Agile team, actively participating in: Sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives

  • Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional designs.

  • Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to prioritize SD and logistics capabilities.

  • Delivering iterative enhancements aligned with program objectives and mission needs.

Requirements Analysis & Solution Design

  • Analyze business requirements and perform fit-gap analysis against SAP S/4HANA SD and TM capabilities.

  • Develop functional specifications, configuration designs, and solution documentation.

  • Recommend scalable solutions that balance standard SAP functionality with program-specific requirements.

Testing, Validation & Deployment

  • Support and execute functional and integration testing (SIT/UAT) for SD and TM processes.

  • Validate end-to-end scenarios across order management, delivery, transportation, and billing.

  • Assist in deployment, cutover planning, and post-go-live support.

Cross-Functional Integration

  • Collaborate with other functional areas including: Finance (FI/CO/FM) for billing and financial integration, Materials Management (MM) for procurement and inventory alignment, EAM/Asset and logistics teams for operational coordination

  • Ensure data and process consistency across modules supporting end-to-end business flows.

Data Integrity, Reporting & Issue Resolution

  • Support data accuracy across customer master, pricing conditions, and transactional data.

  • Assist in development and validation of operational and financial reporting outputs.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex SD and integration issues, providing root cause analysis and solutions.

Continuous Improvement & Optimization

  • Identify opportunities to streamline order-to-cash and logistics processes.

  • Recommend and implement enhancements to improve system performance, usability, and operational efficiency.


Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Information

  • 8+ years of experience

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
