Job Description

ABOUT ROCKET LAB

Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company delivering responsive launch services, complete spacecraft design and manufacturing, payloads, satellite components, and more – all with the goal of opening access space. The rockets and satellites we build, and launch enable some of the most ambitious and vital space missions globally, supporting scientific exploration, Earth observation and missions to combat climate change, national security, and exciting new technology demonstrations.

Our Electron rocket has become the second most frequently launched U.S. rocket annually and has delivered more than 230 satellites to orbit, all while we work to develop Neutron, our upcoming medium-lift, reusable launch vehicle for larger constellation deployment. Our Space Systems business designs and builds our extensive line of satellites, payloads, and their components, including spacecraft that have been selected to support NASA missions to the Moon and Mars and components used on the James Webb Space Telescope.

Lead the Future of Space Exploration as Manager - Ground Systems Engineering

Rocket Lab is redefining what’s possible in space, and we’re looking for a visionary Manager - Ground Systems Engineering to lead the team responsible for the systems that make our missions possible. From test stands to launch pads, fluid systems to automation technologies, this role is at the heart of ensuring Electron and Photon reach orbit seamlessly. If you’re ready to take charge of cutting-edge engineering projects and inspire a team to achieve the unthinkable, this is your opportunity to make history.

You’ll oversee large-scale test stands, tooling, and launch pad systems, including vehicle-to-pad interfaces, fluid systems, structures, mechanisms, power systems, and instrumentation.

This role is focused on delivering new technologies to automate and optimise test and launch operations while improving reliability across Rocket Lab’s NZ and US sites. You’ll be responsible for growing your team, driving innovation, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of all ground systems.
