We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Channel Development Manager to join our ‘Away From Home & Export NZ’ team, based in Newmarket, New Zealand.

Key position responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Define and lead category and channel strategy by analyzing data on pricing, customers, markets, and competitors, using advanced analytics tools to inform actionable growth plans
Develop and implement business strategies for key channels, optimizing product assortment, pricing, and positioning to drive volume and profitability
Build robust business cases for new product development (NPD) and lead agile SKU set-ups, ensuring seamless go-to-market execution
Track and analyze external market intel and commodity trends, producing insights that directly influence procurement, portfolio, and pricing strategies
Manage financial processes, including COGS setup, P&L template accuracy, CPI planning, and monthly profitability reviews (RevMan)
Drive ongoing process improvement by creating SOPs, playbooks, and leading cross-team initiatives for greater efficiency
Support export market growth through price tracking, portfolio management, and development of customer-facing decks
Partner cross-functionally—collaborate with Head of AFH & Export, RGM, field teams, and leadership to ensure strategies align with business needs
Lead the execution of digital tools and portals for B2B customers, enhancing channel performance and engagement
Regularly present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, contributing to business planning, margin improvement, and actionable commercial outcomes
About you:
Proven experience implementing and improving pricing processes, ideally end-to-end (governance, execution, review, and continuous improvement).
Strong commercial, hands-on approach with robust business acumen and an ability to translate strategy into practical actions.
Highly analytical and critical thinker; confident using data to build insights and recommendations.
Visionary, positive, consultative, and energetic style with a strong sense of urgency and bias for action.
Strong presentation and communication skills (written and verbal), able to clearly articulate complex pricing and commercial topics.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate, influence, and “sell” recommendations internally across functions and seniority levels.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Demonstrated experience working with Grocery retailers on pricing (e.g., via trade finance, category development, trade marketing, or direct account roles).
Experience working with business intelligence systems and applying reporting/analytics to commercial decision-making.
Demonstrated ability to lead and embed change in a diverse organisation, engaging stakeholders through ambiguity.
Strong experience in consumer products and B2B environments, with exposure to working across all levels of management.
