Specialist DevOps Engineer

So, what’s the role all about?

• Seeking a skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer with at least 9 years of hands-on experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be critical in automating, managing, and enhancing our infrastructure and CI/CD processes. If you have expertise in AWS, Jenkins pipelines, shell scripting, and a programming language. Predominately, this is focused on the management of a complex cloud environment.
• Responsible for ensuring the AWS platform that runs our products are following cloud best practices, secure, and cost efficient.

 

How will you make an impact?

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to support automated builds, testing, and deployments.
• Manage and optimize AWS infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• To streamline operational workflows and develop automation scripts and tools using shell scripting and other programming languages.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Development, QA, Operations) to ensure seamless software delivery and deployment.
• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure, build failures, and deployment issues to ensure high availability and performance.
• Implement and maintain robust configuration management practices and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Document processes, systems, and configurations to ensure knowledge sharing and maintain operational consistency.
• Performing ongoing maintenance and upgrades (Production & non-production)
• Occasional weekend or after-hours work as needed

 

Have you got what it takes? 

• Experience: Min 9 years in DevOps or a similar role.
• Cloud Expertise: Strong experience managing complex AWS Environments. Comfortable with ECS, EC2, VPCs, ALB, Lambda, CloudFront, CloudWatch, RDS at a minimum.
• IAC: Terraform must-have. CloudFormation or similar beneficial.
• CI/CD Tools: Hands-on experience with Jenkins pipelines (declarative and scripted).
• Scripting Skills: Proficiency in either shell scripting or powershell
• Programming Knowledge: Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, or Go).
• Version Control: Experience with Git and Git-based workflows.
• Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, or similar.
• Problem-solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced environment.

 

You will have an advantage if you also have:

• Development experience is a significant advantage.
• Observability: Prior experience with DataDog / Open Telemetry, or PagerDuty
• CI/CD: Prior experience with Buildkite
• Experience working directly with technology partners such as AWS to drive road maps
• Leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor), including emerging agentic AI capabilities, to accelerate scripting, automation, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and assist in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and operational efficiency.
