Title and Summary

Fullstack Software Engineer (Search Team)

Dynamic Yield is looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer with a strong backend orientation to join our Search team. You’ll help design and build the next generation of our AI-powered search engine—a complex, high-scale SaaS product that processes millions of queries to deliver personalized results in milliseconds.

In this role, you’ll work at the intersection of information retrieval, machine learning, and scalable web technologies. You will collaborate closely with Product, Data Science, and DevOps to build a product that directly impacts the revenue of the world’s leading brands. It’s the best of both worlds: the fast-paced, high-impact "startup vibe" of a dedicated product team, backed by the stability and reach of a global leader.

As a Software Development Engineer on the Search Team, you will:
Plan and execute high-quality developments end-to-end, ensuring our search infrastructure is scalable, performant, and reliable.

Build and optimize core search components, including real-time indexing pipelines, advanced ranking algorithms, and API layers.

Develop advanced UI components that empower merchandisers to manage search results, ensuring a seamless and intuitive SaaS experience.

Architect and maintain cloud-native microservices using Kubernetes (k8s) to support massive traffic spikes and global deployments.

Work in a fast-paced, agile environment where we ship code frequently and focus on business-oriented delivery.

Collaborate across teams to collect requirements, identify technical bottlenecks, and provide accurate estimates for complex features.

Own your code from design to production, including self-study, debugging, and modernizing existing components to the latest standards.

All About You
3+ years of experience in software development with a strong emphasis on backend systems and distributed architecture.

Deep expertise in Python and its ecosystem for building robust, scalable services.

Cloud-Native Mindset: Proven experience with Kubernetes (k8s) and major Cloud providers (AWS/GCP) in a production environment.

Full-Stack Capability: Strong backend orientation but comfortable working with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Vue.js, React) to build functional, data-rich dashboards.

Data Professional: Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including complex query optimization and performance tuning at scale.

Problem Solver: Ability to work independently, react quickly to production challenges, and thrive in a high-growth environment.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.

Nice to Have (Advantages)
Search Engine Expertise: Familiarity with search technologies such as Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or Solr.

AI/ML Interest: An interest in (or experience with) integrating LLMs, NLP, or vector databases into production workflows to enhance search relevance.
