Job Description

The Administrative Assistant supports students' success by providing administrative support, and analytical support through the accurate coordination of workflow and student communications for Student Affairs processes and administrative support, this includes independently identifying and researching issues for both suspension and fraudulent activity reviews. This position will respond to internal and external customers accurately by explaining procedures and providing information.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week on the Cambridge Campus with the Information Services Department within Student Affairs. Shift will consist of Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hours and/or days may change during summer and non-class days.

Salary Range:

$20.76 -$27.53/hour

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated customer service skills sufficient to communicate effectively with a diverse range of populations at all levels within the organization; respond to general inquiries regarding college processes; and direct students and the public to appropriate resources and personnel.

  • Word processing skills are sufficient to prepare correspondence, memoranda, documents, and reports using correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

  • Keyboarding skills sufficient to accurately and efficiently produce a variety of documents, forms, memoranda, and other materials; ability to create internal reports that provide accurate information for decision-making and problem solving.

  • Spreadsheet and database management skills are sufficient to prepare accurate spreadsheets in proper format and to enter, retrieve, and maintain data.

Preferred Qualification 

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with constituents in a diverse multicultural and multiracial community.

  • Administrative experience with abilities to work independently, to set priorities, organize tasks, and meet deadlines, particularly when handling sensitive or confidential matters.

  • Interpersonal skills to independently establish effective working relationships with various organizations and faculty and staff and demonstrated ability to work as a member of team.

  • Ability to implement policies and procedures as they relate to educational services functions, including academic and student affairs.

  • Ability to maintain student record systems such as Integrated Statewide Records System (ISRS), including updating student records, completing special projects, and preparing reports.

  • Ability to organize and complete work assignments in an environment with frequent interruptions demanding immediate attention.
