Role Summary
The Coupa Platform Administrator – S2P Product & Strategic Initiatives is a senior, techno/functional admin who owns the strategic evolution of Expedia Group’s Coupa platform. This role is to support designing and implementing new capabilities post MVP, leading configuration and integration changes, partners with engineering team , and acts as the L2 escalation point for complex issues and triage. You will work closely with Global Finance Technology, Global Procurement, Corporate AP, and other stakeholders to plan and deliver enhancements, manage releases, and
maintain high quality documentation, mappings, and test suites that support sustainable product scale.
What you’ll do
Product ownership & roadmap execution
· Partner with the Source to Pay Product and engineering team to translate business requirements and new functionality rollout from Procurement, AP, Finance, Tax, and other partners into Coupa technical design, configuration, and integration changes: Balance user experience, simplicity, control, and scalability.
· Plan and support implementation of new Coupa modules and features (e.g., new functional areas, punchouts, advanced reporting, policy driven changes) in partnership with Product Owners and Engineering.
· Support roadmap effort sizing and estimation with GFT for technical work
· Prioritize and manage an enhancement backlog, working closely with the Managed Services admin and S2P product owner to capture recurring issues and improvement opportunities
Configuration design & implementation
· Lead system configuration across chart of account settings, locations, departments, stores, approval conditions/workflows, custom fields, content groups, home page content, and related objects.
· Design, maintain, and review changes to master data structures (accounts, suppliers, payment terms, shipping terms, UOMs, commodities, contracts, company addresses) aligned with company policy.
· Design, configure, test, and document DOA approval workflows and other control mechanisms to reflect company policies and segregation of duties requirements.
· Implement and maintain punchout catalogs and supplier facing configurations, including cXML and related integration parameters.
Integration, testing, and technical ownership
· Partner with GFT Engineering and eIT integration teams to design, test, and maintain existing and new integrations between Source-to-Pay (Coupa) and ERP/finance systems (e.g., for POs, invoices, suppliers, items, budgets), including mapping definitions and file specifications.
· Maintain up to date documentation of configuration workbooks, integration mappings, interface specs, and data flows to support ongoing change and audit needs.
· Design and execute unit tests, regression suites, and integration tests in Coupa test environments for new features, releases, and integration changes, leveraging repeatable scripts and test data for new and changed capabilities.
· Lead analysis and resolution of complex system and integration errors, including root cause analysis, fix design, coordination across Engineering/AP/Procurement, and post incident review.
Release & environment management
· Own Coupa release management for the platform, interpret release notes for impact, assess impact on configuration, document configuration changes, and lead integrations
o Plan and execute validation/testing cycles and coordinate deployment readiness with stakeholders.
· Ensure test environments are refreshed and aligned with production at least three times per year in line with Coupa release cycles, coordinating data refreshes and post refresh validations.
· Coordinate SSO certificate updates and related security settings with the corporate security team, including metadata uploads and SSO login validation.
· Partner with Engineering on environment readiness and smoke testing across Oracle dev/UAT/prod and related systems during major changes.
· Partner with S2P GPO, Procurement, AP, and software vendors on new functionality and roadmap
L2 triage, governance, and support model
· Serve as the L2 escalation point for complex Coupa incidents and enhancement requests, provide guidance to the Managed Services admin and directing issues to Engineering, AP, Procurement, or other finance teams per the support model.
· Own and evolve the Coupa support model governance including ticket triage rules, and admin processes (including Jira administration and Slack channel standards) and SLA’s
· Provide subject matter expertise during audits and compliance reviews, including evidence related to controls, approvals, access, and data lineage.
Analytics, training, and change enablement
· Partner with business process owners to analyze data and propose changes that streamline operations and increase automation and compliance.
· Own updates to configuration workbooks, process flows, training materials, and other documentation for new capabilities and changes, ensuring the Managed Services team and end-users are equipped to adopt them.
· Lead or co-lead training for new features, modules, and business units as part of transformation initiatives and post go live stabilization.
Who you are
· Senior Coupa administrator or techno/functional analyst who enjoys designing scalable solutions and leading complex change in a global Source to Pay landscape.
· Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at multiple levels, from end users and operational teams to Product, Engineering, and senior Finance leaders.
· Able to navigate both functional process discussions and technical details such as mappings, file layouts, and test cases.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications
· 5+ years of experience in finance systems, ERP, or Source to Pay platforms, including at least 3 years focused on Coupa configuration and administration.
· Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Coupa configurations across approvals, chart of accounts, locations, custom fields, content groups, and supplier/contract master data.
· Strong understanding of integrations between Coupa and ERPs (e.g., cXML, flat file, or API interfaces for POs, invoices, suppliers, and items) and experience partnering with technical teams on mapping/spec design and testing.
· Handson experience with SaaS release management, regression testing, and environment refresh practices.
· Proven ability to lead cross functional triage and root cause analysis for complex incidents and to communicate outcomes clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Preferred qualifications
· Experience in a large, global organization with complex approval structures and multiple business units.
· Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP
· Prior involvement in a major Coupa implementation or global rollout, including post go live stabilization and transformation waves.
· Familiarity with audit, SOX, and access control requirements for finance systems.
· Experience with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow or similar tools for backlog management and documentation
· Comfort working with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., advanced Excel, Tableau) to drive insights and recommendations.
