Job Description

Join the NASDAQ team as a Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong emphasis on Python development and cloud automation. In this role, you will design, build, and support Python driven platforms and tooling that enable reliable, scalable, and secure operation of mission critical systems.

This position blends modern software engineering practices with DevOps and cloud expertise. You’ll work in a fast paced, project based environment that values ownership, deep technical skill, and continuous evolution of automation and platform capabilities.

Your roles and responsibilities include :

  • Design, develop, and maintain Python‑based automation and platform services supporting cloud infrastructure and operations.
  • Build reusable Python libraries, tools, and services to automate provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and remediation workflows.
  • Architect, implement, and enhance CI/CD pipelines, with Python playing a central role in orchestration, validation, and deployment logic.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code, leveraging Terraform integrated with Python‑driven workflows.
  • Build cloud‑native and serverless solutions (e.g., AWS Lambda, Step Functions) using Python.
  • Apply software engineering best practices: modular design, testing, code reviews, and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across Python services, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point and mentor for junior engineers, particularly around Python development and automation patterns.
  • Operate and support large‑scale AWS environments (1,000+ accounts) using code‑driven and automated approaches.
  • Document architectures, APIs, workflows, and operational standards in Confluence.
  • Partner closely with engineering, operations, and security teams to improve reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
  • Research emerging technologies and deliver Python‑based proof‑of‑concepts to advance DevOps and platform capabilities.

We expect you have :

  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in DevOps with advanced proficiency in Python, including experience building production‑grade automation, services, or tooling.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals and DevOps practices.
  • Experience using Git and modern CI/CD workflows.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot distributed systems and cloud‑native environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate at all organizational levels.

Good to Have :

  • Deep experience using Terraform, especially alongside Python‑driven workflows.
  • Experience with Ansible or other configuration management tools.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, SDKs, YAML, and JSON.
  • CI/CD tooling experience (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.).
  • Experience with backend development concepts or additional scripting languages.
  • Exposure to financial services or other regulated environments.
  • Experience building or supporting internal platforms, developer tools, or web applications.
