What do we do?
 Our product suite of physical IoT devices and Software Agents provides IT managers with insights into Wi-Fi, network, and application performance to proactively solve issues before they impact users. Unlike complex tools built for network engineers, our solution is simple, intuitive, and widely loved. Businesses across industries—offices, universities, banks, hotels, airports, stadiums, retail stores, and more—use our monitoring suite to enhance their network performance.

Designed and developed entirely in Cape Town, our UXI hardware sensors are ARM-based IoT devices running Linux, while our cloud backend systems leverage Python, React, Postgres, Clickhouse, and AWS services. Our software agents, built in Rust, are platform-agnostic and run on Windows and macOS devices.

What the role entails:

For this role we’re seeking an energetic and self-motived software intern to join our Quality Assurance Engineering team, to support our endeavors of QA and software defined automatic testing. You’ll help to enhance our quality assurance practices by building automated test tooling, writing test plans, maintaining and managing our testing environment, and collaborating with product and engineering teams.

Duration of Internship:

6 months full time, non-remote

Skills & Experience:

• BSC Computer Science, or BSC Computer Engineering, or similar undergraduate studies
• Strong software development expertise
• Excellent understanding of current software development best practices
• Experience with software version control systems
• Demonstrable understanding of modern software
• Proficiency in at least one of the following
  • Python
  • Rust
  • C/C++
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-management and autonomy in work

Extremely Beneficial Attributes:

• BSC Honors candidate and/or recent graduate
• Networking experience and understanding of networking concepts
• Software test automation exposure with Terraform, Celery, Pytest, or Github Actions
• Understanding of 802.11 or 802.3
