Informatics Sales Specialist
Field-based role | Travel up to 60% across GCC, Africa and Turkey
Location: Dubai, UAE or Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
As an Informatics Sales Specialist at Illumina in the Middle East and Emerging Markets region, you will be part of a dynamic commercial team, driving the adoption of our cutting‑edge informatics solutions across a multi‑country territory. This field‑based role combines scientific expertise with strategic customer engagement, supporting customers across Research, Clinical Genomics, Healthcare, Pharma, and Population Genomics in optimizing their NGS and array data analysis workflows. You will collaborate closely with account managers and the broader sales and support organization as well as product management and marketing teams, to deliver impactful solutions that accelerate discovery and improve outcomes.

What You’ll Do
Commercial Impact
- Drive regional sales growth across Illumina’s informatics portfolio, from lead generation to closing.
- Represent Illumina at conferences, roadshows, trade events, and customer seminars.
- Coach customers on optimal use of Illumina’s informatics solutions—enabling rapid adoption and long-term value.
Strategic Collaboration
- Partner closely with account managers, sales specialists, and channel partners to deliver customer success.
- Deliver technical and commercial presentations, workshops, and training.
- Build strong relationships across technical and business stakeholders.
- Provide Voice-of-Customer insights to global product, development, and marketing teams.
- Support internal and external enablement as the regional subject matter expert.
- Own sales reporting, metrics, and performance analyses.
- Contribute to account planning and regional market development strategies.
What You Bring
- Extensive experience in B2B life sciences sales within the GCC
- Strong expertise in genomic applications and computational methods
- Deep understanding of clinical sequencing workflows
- Good understanding of local data security and privacy requirements
- Hands-on experience with:
- NGS data analysis (variant calling, filtering, annotation, interpretation, reporting)
- Multi-omic data formats and applications
- Enterprise informatics platforms and pipelines
- Cloud technologies and pricing models
- Proof-of-concept design and technical demonstrations
- Additional experience with LIMS and laboratory informatics will be a strong advantage
- Exceptional English communication and training skills
- Arabic fluency highly desirable; French a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously
- Proven success in customer facing roles, delivering exceptional service
- Willingness to travel ~60% across GCC, Africa and Turkey
- MSc or PhD degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry or a related field
