Riot’s People team exists to help Rioters make better decisions around its talent. We bring our expertise to all areas of HR such as hiring, onboarding, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, performance management, benefits, perks, compensation, employee relations and off-boarding so that all Rioters can flourish.
As HR Business Partners, we are not a compliance function and we don’t make decisions from an ivory tower. Instead, we carefully listen to the problem spaces and work with Rioters to get to an optimal outcome. As an HR Business Partner reporting to the Director, HRBP you will bring broad skills to the teams and programs you’re embedded in within our Esports and Production Services Business. You will partner with leaders across a wide variety of product-lines and central functions as a strategic partner helping shape their People strategy. You will also support deploying People tools and programs ensuring global consistency and careful creation to ensure central programs will support the needs of your assigned clients. You will be a go-to resource for all things related to talent, ranging from performance management to total rewards. You will be a culture promoter and a deployer of tools and programs that turn Rioter potential into performance and results.
Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships and business acumen with assigned client groups; to act as a strategic advisor in influencing talent decisions that will enable the business objectives while balancing local compliance considerations and complying with Riot best practices.
- Partner with the COE’s in support of succession/ talent planning, employee engagement, and workforce planning efforts ; utilize developed frameworks while adapting implementation to meet unique client needs, that can scale and drive evolving business objectives.
- Help inform organization design with an eye towards effectiveness and future scale and develop change management plans for important organization changes.
- Support performance management, leading calibration sessions, group specific training and messaging, and coaching leaders and managers.
- Partner with leadership and Compensation team to maintain fair compensation and evolve job leveling within the changing needs of the business.
- Manage employee relations situations, acting as a first point of contact for talent concerns, performance management and policy violations; apply judgement in identifying concerns, determining the appropriate initial steps and partnering with Rioter Relations and Legal team on resolution when appropriate.
- Oversee the roll out of cyclical People processes across the worldwide Publishing and Esports HRBP and project manage special projects as needed.
- Demonstrate active listening, curiosity and partnership in all responsibilities to enable creative solutions in an environment that often poses unique challenges.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in an HR generalist/business partner or specialist role with progression
- Experience in program/project management, ideally in the support of HR processes.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Organizational Design, or relevant field; or equivalent work experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, consulting, collaboration, and coaching experience.
- Experience working with or supporting diverse and global communities.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience supporting teams in entertainment, sports, gaming, or tech companies.
