Job Title: FP&A Analyst I

Reports To: FP&A Senior Manager

Position Summary:  

The position is a key role to manage Japan total Opex as Corp FP&A in Thermo Fisher scientific in Japan. As a strategic business partner, the position will actively work with CFO and back-office leaders in Japan as well as regional/global Finance counterparts.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare annual operating plan, monthly and mid-term forecasts, and long-term strategic plan.
  • Forecast, track, analyze commercial P/L as well as preparing monthly/quarterly business review package.
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of variance. Find opportunities to improve financial performance.
  • Develop financial models and perform financial analysis to support management decision making process.
  • Effectively collaborate closely with Global division/Commercial/Finance and APAC Commercial/Finance teams
  • Initiate and lead FP&A operational improvements

  • Strong ability to analyze financial data and trends.
  • Pay attention to detail for accurate financial reporting.
  • Ability to think strategically and provide insights that drive business decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address financial challenges and improve processes.
  • A self-starter and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization in multi-national companies.
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, or equivalent knowledge; MBA is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding in financial accounting
  • Effective verbal & written communication abilities in English and Japanese
  • Preferred experience in ERP (SAP/Oracle) and analytical tools (Hyperion)
