Position Overview 

We are looking for Senior Automotive Field Application Engineers who will deliver impactful, customer-facing software and application support for our automotive semiconductor portfolio in China. This position centers on engaging closely with strategic automotive customers, facilitating product evaluation, software integration, system bring-up, debugging, and technical relationship management. The individual in this role will serve as a crucial liaison between customers, sales teams, and the Automotive Business Unit, leveraging strong embedded software expertise and robust system-level knowledge to navigate complex technical discussions and resolve software system challenges efficiently.

Key Responsibilities 

- Act as the primary software-focused field applications engineer for key automotive customers in China, providing expert guidance and onsite technical support. 

- Deliver customer-facing support for ADI automotive products, emphasizing software enablement, seamless integration, and deployment. 

- Assist OEM and Tier 1 customers with software evaluation, platform bring-up, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolving system-level challenges. 

- Drive strategic design-in and design-win initiatives by offering technical leadership and supporting customers in adopting ADI solutions more rapidly. 

- Address and resolve sophisticated customer issues involving embedded software, including firmware, drivers, middleware, interfaces, and overall system behavior.   

- Lead technical presentations, design reviews, workshops, and training sessions for both customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring technical alignment and knowledge transfer. 

- Channel customer feedback to internal teams on software requirements, product gaps, feature requests, and competitive insights. 

Required Qualifications 

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. 

- At least 5 years of experience in embedded software, field applications, applications engineering, automotive electronics, or semiconductor technical support. 

- Demonstrated experience in customer-facing roles, with a proven track record of effectively supporting client needs. 

- In-depth understanding of automotive embedded software development, including firmware, drivers, middleware, debugging, and system integration. 

- Hands-on experience with MCUs, DSPs, SoCs, or comparable embedded processing platforms. 

- Proficiency with standard automotive or embedded interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, I2S, TDM, or similar protocols. 

- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills that span software, hardware, and system levels. 

- Excellent communication and presentation abilities in Chinese and English.

Preferred Qualifications 

- Prior experience supporting China automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and ecosystem partners. 

- Familiarity with a range of automotive in-vehicle electronics, such as automotive audio, connectivity, DSP, ADAS, Display, BMS, edge processing, Power, and sensing technologies.

- Background working in multinational teams and collaborating with global engineering groups.
