Scientist, Bioinformatics & Data Analytics

Position Purpose

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Scientist, Bioinformatics & Data Analytics, to support Microarray-related projects through advanced data analysis, workflow automation, and cross-functional scientific collaboration.

In this role, you will work closely with molecular biologists to analyze and interpret complex experimental data, generate actionable insights, and support data-driven decision-making. You will develop and apply bioinformatics and data analytics approaches to Microarray datasets, identify relationships between wet-lab processes and data outcomes, and contribute to Smart Factory and digitalization initiatives.

This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days per week on site; the remaining days may be worked remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with molecular biologists to understand experimental objectives and define data analysis strategies.
  • Analyze complex Microarray datasets and derive clear, scientifically sound conclusions.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust data analysis workflows to improve efficiency, scalability, and reproducibility.
  • Automate data analysis processes to enable fast and reliable decision-making.
  • Troubleshoot data- and assay-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions from a bioinformatics and data analytics perspective.
  • Interpret results, generate hypotheses, and recommend next steps based on experimental findings.
  • Plan, design, and execute bioinformatics and data analytics activities independently.
  • Provide technical leadership in product and method development, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Communicate analytical findings effectively to cross-functional stakeholders, including through technical and management-level presentations.
  • Implement data analysis-related changes to existing assays, including test design, stakeholder alignment, and documentation updates.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and appropriate quality control within the scope of responsibility.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams, departments, and global functions.
  • Continuously expand expertise in bioinformatics, data analytics, and relevant digital technologies.

Qualifications / Education / Experience

  • MSc in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant hands-on experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and commonly used data analysis libraries.
  • Demonstrated ability to write complex, modular, and maintainable code.
  • Experience developing and maintaining data analysis workflows or pipelines independently.
  • Familiarity with Linux and command-line environments.
  • Experience with SQL and Git.
  • Good understanding of core software development practices, including code organization, testing, and documentation.
  • Strong ability to analyze, visualize, and interpret experimental data.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues from diverse scientific and technical backgrounds.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and technical writing skills.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Docker, AI/ML libraries, or web development technologies.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools and agentic workflows for software development and data analysis.
  • Basic understanding of computer networking and PC hardware.
  • Experience with Microarray data analysis or related genomics / molecular biology applications.
  • Experience contributing to workflow automation, digitalization, or Smart Factory initiatives.

We Offer:

  • An innovative environment within a rapidly growing international company.

  • A hard-working, supportive team and leadership committed to your professional development.

  • The opportunity to be part of a dynamic organization and work alongside experienced professionals.
