About the Role

Coordinate scale up activities at the Ohio site, ensuring all tooling and processes are correctly implemented.  Oversee operational, and performance qualification of any proprietary equipment. As a Lead Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will serve as the primary on-site lead for our Ohio facility, acting as the critical link between Carbon’s strategic vision and our manufacturing partner’s daily operations. In this high-impact individual contributor role, you will oversee the end-to-end production process ensuring every unit meets our rigorous quality, cost, and delivery standards without the need for direct report management. You will bridge the gap between Carbon’s strategic goals and the tactical execution, driving continuous improvement and maintaining rigorous quality standards, ensuring the mechanical and digital precision of the process is maintained.

The position is located in Ohio. For candidates unable to relocate, you will need to have the ability to travel up to 80% to visit the Ohio facility. 

You will….

  • Operational Excellence: 
    • Oversee all stages of the production process to ensure maximum efficiency. 
    • Effectively allocate labor, equipment, and materials to meet output goals.  
  • Quality Control: 
    • Identify root causes for defects and implement corrective actions where necessary.  
    • Monitor batch records and quality data to ensure product integrity. 
    • Lead technical investigations into failures or "out-of-spec" events in order to deploy corrective actions quickly.
  • Process Improvement & yield optimization: 
    • Identify opportunities and lead initiatives to reduce waste and optimize workflows. 
    • Rigorously manage any process changes at the facility to ensure integrity and consistency of the end product.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: 
    • Serve as Carbon’s representative at the manufacturing site, building strong partnerships with leadership from all parties.

Leadership Responsibilities: 

    • Maintain a transparent feedback loop with HQ, translating corporate strategy into local action and keeping the site team aligned with broader company goals.

You have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent years of experience).
  • 5+ years in Manufacturing related role (supply chain, mfg or process engineering, Quality engineering, production management, program management)
  • Familiarity with tools and methods for process and quality control, production planning, shop floor management.  Ideally familiar with the Carbon DLS work flow.  
  • Role located in Ohio, if unable to relocate, candidate must have the ability to travel up to [80%] to visit Ohio site on an on-going basis
