Project Title:
Easy Jig for CMP Wafer Handing Clearance Check
Project Objective:
This project aims to design a user‑friendly measurement jig that enables line operators to accurately check wafer handling and wafer‑to-tool clearance. The solution should provide a simple, consistent, and reliable method for measuring wafer handling clearance, thereby reducing preventive maintenance (PM) time and improving overall wafer quality.
Project Description:
Collaborate with Equipment Engineering (EE) to identify all critical locations that require wafer‑to‑tool clearance checks.
Develop and define a measurement jig to enable consistent and accurate clearance verification, eliminating reliance on rulers or visual estimation.
Create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) detailing the correct usage, calibration, and maintenance of the measurement jig.
Work jointly with external vendors on the design and fabrication of the jig to ensure it meets engineering and operational requirements.
Project Outcome:
Reduce wafer scratches during transfer, improve PM quality and shorten the PM duration.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent technical field
*This application is for students undertaking a 20-24 week credit-bearing internship from June 2026 onwards.
