Lead a team of engineers that builds and operates services that help other AWS teams manage their service infrastructure. Utility Computing (UC)
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.


Key job responsibilities
You will be delivering high quality solutions in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift fast. You will be able to apply your technical skills coupled with your leadership, planning, and management abilities. You do not have to write code but prior experience in developing software in one more modern development languages like C, C++, Java or Rust is required. You'll also have the opportunity to use your technical skills by contributing to designs and other technical discussions. You will be able to provide guidance and leadership regarding the team's software engineering methodology. Amazon promotes a DevOps culture, so you’ll be able to evolve the team's testing, deployment and operational best practices .

You will be collaborating with multiple teams to translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed project plans and schedules; manage the day-to-day activities of the team by defining, implementing and maintaining a coherent, progressive development strategy. Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
