Job Description

A leadership role where collaboration, technology and purpose come together. As Head of Fighter Instructions of Continued Airworthiness, you will shape direction and drive performance for the Gripen system’s continued airworthiness.

Your role

The Fighter Instructions of Continued Airworthiness department is responsible for the design of integrated logistics support for the Gripen weapon system. This includes the development of technical instructions and documentation, as well as customer-specific maintenance solutions tailored to different operators. The department also provides technical support to Gripen operators worldwide.

As Head of Fighter Instructions of Continued Airworthiness, you are responsible for leading and developing the department and for ensuring its long-term performance and direction. You set and drive strategies, objectives and plans, and secure that the organisation has the capabilities, resources and engagement required to deliver on both current and future priorities.

You act as a key interface towards other business units within Saab as well as relevant customer stakeholders, ensuring alignment and effective collaboration across the organisation.

Your overall responsibilities include:

  • Translating strategies from Saab, Aeronautics and BU Gripen into clear, actionable and well-communicated objectives for your organisation.
  • Driving performance across the department, including health and safety, quality, delivery capability, efficiency and financial results.
  • Leading in accordance with Saab’s organisational values and fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture.
  • Developing organisational capabilities and securing the right competence to meet current and future demands.
  • Empowering and engaging employees through clear leadership, coaching and trust.
  • Driving continuous improvement and developing efficient ways of working across the organisation.
  • Maintaining and developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You will be part of BU Gripen’s management team and report to the Head of BU Gripen.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a clear and supportive leadership style, combined with a strong business mindset and the ability to drive an organisation forward. We are looking for someone with:

  • A Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent education or relevant work experience.
  • Experience from the aerospace and/or defence industry is valued, together with a good understanding of related processes and systems.
  • Experience from industrial or production environments is considered an advantage.
  • A strong ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery and to drive change initiatives.
  • Solid business understanding, with the ability to identify opportunities and create value.
  • Experience of leading and developing teams and organisations in a constructive and forward-looking way.
  • Confidence communicating in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, with a clear and straightforward style.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
