The Senior IT Procurement Professional; Software Renewals is responsible for strategically processing and negotiating complex software renewals to optimize value, mitigate risk, and ensure compliance with organizational policies. This role leverages deep expertise in IT procurement to drive cost-effective solutions and maintain strong vendor relationships that support the enterprise’s technology objectives.

The Senior IT Procurement Professional; Software Renewals delivers effective and timely end-to-end processing of software renewals across the enterprise. You will demonstrate significant accuracy, completeness and independent judgement on software renewals ranging from small to large in complexity. You will ensure that software needs, usage, compliance and agreements are aligned to stakeholder and business priorities while mitigating risk.  A successful candidate will possess software procurement and/or renewal experience and detailed knowledge of software optimization strategies to deliver impactful contributions to the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review licenses and/or contracts to ensure that software is covered by the contract and properly documented.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners to forecast future needs and develop cost effective strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Negotiate with software vendors in order to purchase the appropriate software at the lowest cost and most effective terms.
  • Coordinate the negotiation and execution of contracts with the Legal and Contracts departments.
  • Analyze software spend and identify cost-saving opportunities to maximize ROI.
  • Make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach.
  • Exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
  • Adhere to internal procurement policies and external regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 or more years of experience in procurement of technology systems and/or software
  • 2 or more years of software procurement and/or renewal experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
  • Experience with complex calculations and financial acumen to present and report to Leadership and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing software spend and identifying cost-saving opportunities to maximize Return on investment.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, identifies process improvements
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels
  • Be able to assimilate, analyze, draw conclusions, and make recommendations from multi-faceted and often ambiguous data
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills

  • Supplier analysis including capabilities, goals, risk profile, and financial health.

Additional Information

You will report to an Associate Director of Software Renewals.

You will perform as an individual contributor with no managerial duties/oversight of a team.

You will be fully remote within the U.S.

Travel: While this is a remote position, Humana may require occasional travel to its offices for training or meetings.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$86,300 - $118,700 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
