Description of Work
About the Long Term Recovery Coordinator:The Long Term Recovery (LTR) Coordiantor position will coordinate and assist with units of local governments in their recovery efforts. The selected candidate will work with communities to provide assistance during their activation and support efforts to begin recovery operations as well as helping communities understand service delivery of recovery programs.
The LTR Coordinator will provide guidance in tracking needed documentation for different recovery programs, will work with communities to identify unmet needs and to assist communities with any special programs that are designed to meet those needs, and assist with education and disbursement of information of long-term recovery needs and the special programs that are designed to meet the unique circumstances in the aftermath of a disaster. This position will also support the Long-Term Recovery Chief at the Joint Field Office or in the field on special recovery issues. This may include being deployed to impacted areas for extended periods to assist communities in their recovery efforts and to help communities position itself for long-term recovery. This position may be assigned to help communities address special recovery task, which may include reviewing debris removal, working with special housing programs, documentation of private property issues, and other unique circumstances or issues which communities may ask for assistance to understand or resolve.
The LTR Coordinator position will work to ensure open communications regarding recovery efforts between NCEM Sections, NCEM Operation Branch offices, Counties’ Emergency Management offices, and other offices of local governments.
About NCEM's Recovery Section:
The Recovery Section manages the FEMA Public Assistance Program, FEMA
Individual Assistance Program, as well as state-funded Public Assistance,
Individual Assistance and Long-Term Recovery grant programs, including the
North Carolina Disaster Case Management (NC-DCM) Program. The section is
primarily based at 200 Park Offices Drive in Durham County but will deploy staff
statewide as needed to support local recovery from state and federally declared
disasters.

Military Experience
