Job Description
THE ROLE
As a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a critical role in executing and optimizing the accounts payable function. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and vendor account reconciliations, while serving as a subject matter expert for AP operations.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings strong attention to detail, and is passionate about improving processes. You will partner cross-functionally with teams across Finance, Procurement, and Operations, and may provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own end-to-end accounts payable processing of 3 way match invoices.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all AP transactions in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
- Perform vendor account reconciliations and proactively resolve discrepancies or outstanding issues.
- Serve as a point of contact for vendor inquiries, maintaining strong and professional relationships.
- Identify opportunities to streamline AP workflows and improve efficiency through process enhancements and automation
- Support implementation and optimization of AP systems and tools, including ERP platforms
- Partner cross-functionally with Fulfillment centers and category managers to resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, with a focus on accounts payable processes
- Proven experience managing high-volume invoice processing in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies independently
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams and with external vendors
- Ability to prioritize competing tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Experience driving process improvements or automation initiatives is a plus
