Business Development Manager – Clinical Microbiology & AMR (South Asia)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Manager to drive strategic initiatives and expand our Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) business across South Asia. This role will focus on building partnerships with government agencies, public health institutions, research organizations, and key clinical stakeholders to develop large-scale programs and projects related to microbiology surveillance and AMR.

The ideal candidate will possess strong scientific credibility, the ability to engage with clinical experts and policymakers, and experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives at regional or national levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business development initiatives for Clinical Microbiology and AMR programs across South Asia.
  • Identify and develop large strategic projects with government agencies, public health institutions, and healthcare organizations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, regulatory authorities, and national health programs.
  • Collaborate with global teams to align regional requirements with global strategy and solutions.
  • Engage with clinical microbiologists, infectious disease specialists, research scientists, and healthcare professionals to understand market needs and develop tailored solutions.
  • Represent the organization in scientific forums, government meetings, and industry collaborations related to AMR and microbiology.
  • Support the development of regional strategies for AMR surveillance, microbiology diagnostics, and laboratory strengthening initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including sales, marketing, application specialists, regulatory, and global business units.
  • Drive partnerships with research institutes, academic institutions, and public health organizations.
  • Develop project proposals, strategic plans, and funding opportunities aligned with regional healthcare priorities.
  • Monitor market trends, national health policies, and global developments related to AMR and clinical microbiology.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Microbiology / Life Sciences OR Medical Doctor (MD / MBBS with relevant specialization).
  • Strong academic and scientific background in Clinical Microbiology or Infectious Diseases preferred.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in clinical microbiology, public health programs, life sciences industry, or related field.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects, national programs, or strategic collaborations.
  • Proven experience working with government agencies and public health stakeholders.
  • Experience interacting with global stakeholders and cross-regional teams.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of Clinical Microbiology, AMR, and infectious disease surveillance.
