Job Description

Discover Impactful Work:

Responsible for the entire distribution center operation through supervisors. Responsible for overall warehouse distribution results as related to goals, including objectives pertaining to training, development, and engagement of colleagues.

A day in the Life:

  • Oversee supervisor activities and departmental performance in relation to goals using or creating internal reports for measurement and assessment of operational effectiveness. Areas of oversight include Receiving, Put-Away, Picking, Packing, Shipping, and Inventory Control. Communicates with and holds supervisory and hourly colleagues accountable to policy, process, and performance standards.

  • Leads in a manner that is consistent with our interpersonal culture, which is based on four values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement and on open communication.

  • Participates in the hiring process and recommends candidates for hire. Trains, develops, and coaches new and existing staff to deliver top-notch performance, while promoting employee development, creative thinking, empowerment, and two-way communication.

  • Creative in finding opportunities for improvement. Resolves problems that prevent a timely and efficient handling of inbound and outbound orders. Makes recommendations regarding workflow and overtime when needed.

  • Works with the Regional Distribution Area Manager to ensure total P&L goals and objectives are being met.

  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with all regulatory and operational procedures.

  • Interacts with MIS to ensure that all equipment is in proper working order.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • High School Diploma/ GED required,

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred,

Experience

  • 5 years of multidimensional management experience in a distribution operations environment required.

  • 3+ years people/ team leadership experience required.

  • Strong understanding of operational safety and health requirements.

  • Basic understanding of transportation related coordination and issue resolution.

  • Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements including DOT and HAZMAT.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Practiced leadership and supervisory skills to lead, coach and empower a large number of employees.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to meet area performance objectives, assist staff in prioritizing work and handle multiple projects, with a customer bias.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to relate well to employees, peers, and various levels of management.

  • Proven experience with performance management. Able to apply positive and negative feedback tactfully and appropriately.

  • Developed analytical, problem-solving, skills to evaluate, interpret information and procedures, and understand and act on issue resolution.

  • Ability to develop and deliver timely training related to warehouse operations, including compliance training.

  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills, focus on continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Limited travel is required.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment without air conditioning.

  • Covers supervisory absence and supports Site Leader with coverage.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $79,700.00–$119,600.00.
