Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. PSLD is responsible for the worldwide distribution of Cat aftermarket parts, integrated logistics, and global service to develop and support our global dealer network and customers.

As a Distribution Supervisor, you plan the workload and supervise warehouse operations employees in assuring parts are received, packaged, inspected, packed and cross-docked in a safe, accurate and efficient manner meeting or exceeding customer expectations and within conformance to company standards. This position is an entry-level Distribution Supervisor position within the Product Support & Logistics Division, reporting to the Value Stream Manager based in Singapore.  You will lead a work group of approximately 12 warehouse operations employees to ensure completion of assigned tasks in accordance with established processes. The position is also responsible for driving optimization and standardization of operations processes, and for managing personnel issues and performance evaluation of subordinates.

The primary responsibilities for this position will be to (but not limited to):

  • Ensure a high level of employee safety and adherence to safety policies and procedures.

  • Lead, appraise, coach and develop operational staffs

  • Daily workforce and operational planning

  • Deliver daily toolbox meetings and ad hoc operational presentations to operations and management employees

  • Oversee and ensure effective execution of warehouse day to day activities, with deep understanding of the following operational processes: receiving, packaging, inspection, packing and cross-docking parts from dealers, management of indirect supplies required for packaging and related exceptions handling

  • Collaborate with internal and external counterparts for work completion, issues resolution and process optimization

  • Drive process improvements and standardization of operational processes

  • Analyze operational data daily

  • Report key performance metrics weekly

  • Meet required area and facility wide performance goals. Perform root cause analysis, and identify and execute correction actions when required

  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with sensitive information

  • Limited travel required (less than 5% of working time)

Required Skill and Experience:

  • Diploma with at least 3-5 years of related experience. Related teritary qualifications a plus.  

  • Good communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills

  • Proven experience in leading, coaching and developing employees

  • Strong analytical skills in root cause identification, with ability to perform data crunching via Microsoft Excel

  • Experience in a continuous process improvement environment including 6 Sigma and Caterpillar Production System (CPS)
