Your Impact 

As Global Medical Director, CNS & Pain, you will play a central role in shaping global medical strategy and advancing patientfocused, sciencedriven innovation. As a core member of the Need State Team and Medical Affairs Leadership Team, you will collaborate across functions and geographies to guide longterm therapeutic strategy and ensure scientific excellence across the product lifecycle. 

This role offers the opportunity to influence strategy, mentor colleagues, and contribute meaningfully to patient care ata global scale — within a collaborative and inclusive leadership environment. 

What You’ll Be Doing 

Strategic Leadership & Collaboration 

  • Shape and cocreate 1 and 5year therapeutic area strategies as a core member of the Cross-functional TA Team. 

  • Partner closely with crossfunctional leaders (I&D, Commercial, Public Affairs, Affiliates) to ensure strong medical alignment and shared ownership. 

  • Lead and strategically contribute to key Medical Affairs decisions within a collaborative leadership team. 

Medical & Scientific Excellence 

  • Lead global Medical Affairs strategy and execution for CNS & Pain therapeutic areas. 

  • Translate insights from patients, healthcare professionals, and scientific stakeholders into clear, scalable medical opportunities. 

  • Identify unmet medical needs and guide innovative development and inlicensing opportunities. 

  • Develop Target Product Profiles (TPPs) in collaboration with crossfunctional partners. 

Knowledge Sharing & Capability Building 

  • Provide highquality medical guidance, education, and training to global and affiliate teams. 

  • Lead medical plans, research initiatives, and publication strategies rooted in real patient needs. 

  • Review scientific literature and emerging trends (including digital solutions) to enhance disease management and patient outcomes. 

Thought Leadership & External Engagement 

  • Build and maintain trusted scientific partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and scientific societies. 

  • Oversee highquality medical content for digital platforms targeting patients and healthcare professionals. 

Governance, Safety & Compliance 

  • Serve as an active member of Therapeutic Area Review Committees, Product Safety Teams, and Labeling SubTeams. 

  • Ensure robust oversight of clinical activities, safety monitoring, risk management plans, and regulatory documentation. 

 

What You’ll Bring

Required: 

  • M.D.(preferred) with minimum 5 years’ experience in the relevant field of the pharmaceutical industry.
  • An advanced degree in life sciences: i.e. M.Sc, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the relevant field of the pharmaceutical industry,
  • Pharm D / PhD with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in the relevant field of the pharmaceutical industry,
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial design, safety oversight, and regulatory environments 

  • Experience working with KOLs and scientific societies 

  • Fluent English (additional languages a plus)

  • Experience in country or regional medical leadership roles

  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills
