Role Summary

The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for leading multiple Integration engineering teams delivering enterprise‑scale integration solutions supporting dealer deployments. This role provides managerial, technical, and delivery leadership to ensure high‑quality, secure, and scalable integration capabilities aligned with Cat Digital standards and business priorities.
The role operates with a strategic mindset, partnering closely with Product, Architecture, Platform, and Business stakeholders to deliver predictable outcomes while building strong, high‑performing engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

    Delivery & Execution Management

    • Accountable for end‑to‑end delivery of integration and dealer deployment initiatives across multiple teams.
    • Ensure alignment to PI objectives, sprint commitments, and release milestones.
    • Drive adherence to agreed Definition of Done (DoD), quality standards, and deployment readiness criteria.
    • Identify, escalate, and mitigate risks related to dependencies, resourcing, and technical complexity.

    Technical & Engineering Oversight

    • Provide technical leadership and governance for API‑based and cloud integration solutions.
    • Ensure engineering practices align with Cat Digital standards for security, reliability, scalability, and observability.
    • Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Platform teams to guide solution direction and technical decisions.
    • Review designs and approaches to ensure long‑term maintainability and reuse.

    Stakeholder & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

    • Serve as a primary engineering interface for Product Management, Release Management, Dealer Operations, and external partners.
    • Balance business priorities with engineering capacity and technical constraints.
    • Communicate delivery status, risks, and trade‑offs to leadership and governance forums.
    • Support dealer rollout readiness, deployment coordination, and post‑deployment stabilization.

    Process, Governance & Continuous Improvement

    • Champion Agile and scaled Agile (SAFe) practices across teams.
    • Drive continuous improvement in delivery predictability, quality, and operational efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance with Cat Digital policies related to security, change management, and operational readiness.
    • Improve deployment, incident response, and support handoff processes.

    Leadership

    • Lead, coach, and develop software engineering leads, senior engineers, and managers.
    • Set clear performance expectations aligned with Cat Digital values and engineering standards.
    • Support talent management activities including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
    • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and accountable team culture.

    • Leads multiple teams or managers with significant delivery responsibility.
    • Influences strategy and execution beyond direct reporting lines.
    • Accountable for delivery outcomes across a defined portfolio or capability area.
    • Recognized as a trusted partner by Product, Business, and Technology leadership.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • 15+ year experience in software engineering with 5+ years in technical/people leader roles.
    • Proven experience delivering complex, enterprise‑scale software or integration solutions with experience in Dot Net, SQL Server and Azure manager services
    • Strong understanding of modern integration patterns, APIs, cloud platforms, and distributed systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
    • Experience supporting dealer systems, enterprise platforms, or large B2B integrations.
    • Familiarity with cloud‑based integration platforms (Azure preferred).
    • Experience working in scaled Agile environments.
    • Experience leading globally distributed or vendor‑supported teams.
