This position works out of our Mexico City officies, in the Established Pharmaceutical Division

What You’ll Do:
- Member of the Affiliate Management Team, with direct participation in governance meetings.
- Medical Manager supervision in the technical approach related to each product strategy, assuring that the medical function is solid represented by the different divisional teams.
- Development and optimization of work and communication strategies and processes, that transforms the techno-scientific language of the pharmaceutical products in a consistent marketing information, towards a safety and risk-controlled practice for the EPD product use in the market.
- Management, leadership and training of other related areas as Medical Affairs, New Evidence Generation Projects, Medical Information, Digital Initiatives and Sales Force training, assuring that these functions are appropriately represented, in a consistent mode and are technically adequate for our medical activities.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Development of the strategic plan for the Medical Department according to the EPD vision and mission, marketing strategic objectives and company policies, for better results in the technical information management.
- Responsible of the budget management allocated to the Medical Department.
- Lead the group of Medical Managers assuring that the Medical Affairs related requirements and processes, are conducted in adherence to the company policies.
- Approval and supervision of Medical Managers activities related to training plans, promotional materials, events, dossiers and protocols, assuring that they are in accordance to our corporative requirements, current regulations and product strategy.
- Lead the New Evidence Generation Projects, Digital Initiatives to HCPs, Patients & Users, Medical Information and Sales Force training areas.
- Management of the Evidence and Data Generation, participating in the initiation, conduction and results analysis of the Scientific-Medical programs and Medical Education activities, focussing these activities in accordance to the divisional strategies and SOPs.
- Management of the Patient Support Programs, including Planning, Oversight and Execution, in accordance of the divisional SOPs.
- Assure that all Medical Affairs procedures and activities are in adherence to the Best Practices, OEC Guidance, Local Regulation (if needed) and divisional SOPs.
- Act as a Pharmacovigilance counterpart before the Regulatory Authority.
- Manage groups of analysis of potential crisis risk (Risk Management), preventing or correcting events, supervising the maintenance of existent products, and the launching of new ones.
- Provide administrative and technical guidance to other business areas.
- Perform activities and reach decisions in accordance to the company Ethics Code.
- Generate, training and communicate information that can be used by the different areas of the company, that support the maintenance or development of business units (brand teams), about better practices to be adopted.
- Assure that Sales Force representatives are functionally trained to represent their corresponding business unit, guaranteeing that product strategies are based in and in accordance to adequate technical, scientific and regulatory criteria.
- Act on behalf of EPD in front of government authorities, public institutions, or other organizations, that require the presence of a medical representative to communicate the thought or position of the company,
- Comply with the corporative and local policies and procedures related to his/her activity, towards the optimization of internal processes, guaranteeing company reputation.
- Drive actions and decisions under his/her responsibility, in strict adherence to both, the Code of Business Conduct and local regulation.
- Medical team management responsible, considering his/her area planning and strategic functions, personal development and attraction and administrating related staff procedures.
Position Accountability/Scope
- Medical Operational oversight for medical affairs activities in the affiliate
- Medical oversight for New Evidence Generation studies executed in the affiliate
- Responsible to manage Medical Affairs related processes and systems
- Internal stakeholders: Medical Affairs employees including affiliate medical staff, Clinical Development staff, PV staff, MKT staff, Market Access staff, Regulatory affairs staff, General Managers, Productivity Team.
- External stakeholders: business partners (contractors, consultants, vendors, HCPs, KOLs, patients and users, Health Entities).
Minimum Education
- Physician
- Medical specialty or equivalent by experience
Minimum Experience/Training Required
- 7 years of experience in a leadership role in the pharmaceutical industry or its equivalent in university teaching.
- Demonstrated management and leadership skills
- Good awareness and understanding of medical affairs operations, and working across many functional areas
- Good awareness and understanding of Medical Studies, inspection readiness, communication channels
- Good English language communication skills, both in written and oral form.
- Availability to travel.
