Job Description

As a Software Developer reporting to the Director - Software Engineering, you’ll design and build technology solutions for internal and external clients, covering systems strategy, development, integration, and product enhancements.

You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy solving complex technical problems, working across architecture, development, and infrastructure teams, and taking solutions from design through coding, testing, and implementation in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver IT solution designs aligned with business goals and technology roadmaps.

  • Lead requirements analysis and translate business needs into scalable software solutions.

  • Design, develop, and enhance applications with a focus on performance and usability.

  • Mentor team members across design, development, and testing, promoting standards.

  • Collaborate with partners and business clients to drive continuous improvement and identify new opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Education & experience: Degree in Computer Science or a related field, with solid hands‑on software development experience in client‑facing roles.

  • Backend development: Strong Java (11+) skills, with good knowledge of databases and SQL, building and running scalable services.

  • Distributed systems: Experience with REST APIs, messaging (e.g. Kafka, ActiveMQ), and microservices or service‑based architectures.

  • Engineering practices: Comfortable with Git, CI/CD (GitLab, TeamCity), Linux environments, and scripting.

  • Product mentality & communication: Cares about building quality products, communicates clearly in English, and works well with both technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the financial industry (banking, accounting, trading, clearing) is a strong advantage.

  • Wildfly/RedHat EAP, Message - Oriented Middleware (e.g., ActiveMQ).

  • JIRA, TeamCity.

This position will be located in Vilnius, Lithuania and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
