No two days are the same at Agoda. Data and technology are at the heart of our culture, fueling our curiosity and innovation. If you’re ready to begin your best journey and help build travel for the world, join us.
The Opportunity:
As a Tax Data Reporting Specialist, you will be based in Bangkok with Agoda Services Co. Ltd, reporting to the Tax Data & Technology, Associate Director. You will join a rapidly growing Tax Team responding to the evolving tax landscape for digital services. While being part of the broader Finance team, you will work closely with Product, Tech, Supply, Legal and Senior Leadership teams at Agoda as well as our sister brand companies and our US parent company.
You will own the end-to-end analysis and implementation of global digital platform tax reporting regimes, including EU’s DAC7 and similar data reporting frameworks emerging globally (e.g., OECD Model Rules, Australia, Canada, China and others). The role sits at the intersection of tax regulation, data, and technology focusing on tax and data analysis, schema and systems understanding, as well as project coordination partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate, timely, and scalable data reporting compliance.
While the underlying tax rules are relatively straightforward, these regimes require strong cross-functional coordination, robust data processes, and ongoing monitoring of regulatory developments. This role is ideal for a professional who is comfortable working with data, can manage detailed tasks and timelines, and is eager to grow their expertise in data-driven tax compliance within a product and technology-led organization.
Due to the rapid changes in the organization, the tasks and duties of this role may evolve over time. You will be keen to develop and grow within the role and to take on additional challenges and responsibilities as they occur.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Regulatory Analysis and Risk Management
- Monitor and interpret global digital platform tax reporting regimes (e.g., DAC7, SERR, OECD Model Rules, local implementations) and translate regulations into actionable business and data requirements.
- Identify grey areas, assess compliance risks, and recommend pragmatic, well documented positions in coordination with external advisors, where required.
- Prepare status and risk updates for leadership, including alignment with our US parent company and sister brands, as needed.
2.Data & Schema Analysis for Tax Reporting
- Define required data attributes, schemas, and reporting logic to meet regulatory obligations.
- Work with Product/Tech/Data teams to identify and fix data gaps, quality issues and validation/reconciliation issues that impact reporting.
