At Klaviyo, the ARIA (Applications, Resources, Intelligence, and Automations) team builds and maintains the internal technology foundation that powers Klaviyo's operations and product innovation. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a high-impact team across four key domains: IT Platform Engineering, AI Engineering, Internal Applications, and Automations and Integrations. In this role, you will set technical direction, drive engineering excellence, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement while partnering closely with senior stakeholders to deliver outcomes aligned with Klaviyo's business priorities.

How you’ll make a difference:

  • Lead and grow engineering teams: Lead, develop, and retain engineers across IT Platform Engineering, AI Engineering, Internal Applications, and Automations and Integrations, ensuring each team has the support, structure, and direction to do their best work.
  • Drive team performance and delivery: Set clear goals and OKRs, establish healthy team rhythms, and create an environment where engineers are focused, unblocked, and delivering high-quality outcomes consistently.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders: Work closely with Security, Risk and Trust, Product Engineering, and Business Operations to understand needs, prioritize effectively, and align technical investments to company goals.
  • Set technical direction and engineering standards: Define and communicate a clear technical vision across your teams, promoting best practices in reliability, security, scalability, and code quality.
  • Champion AI and automation adoption: Drive the adoption of AI-powered tools and automation to improve internal tooling, developer productivity, and operational efficiency across Klaviyo.
  • Mentor and develop engineers: Provide meaningful coaching and feedback, conduct regular 1:1s, and create clear paths for career growth and advancement within your teams.
  • Build and sustain a world-class team: Collaborate with recruiting, HRBP, and other engineering managers to attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent across all four domains.
  • Represent your teams with clarity: Communicate progress, blockers, and strategy clearly in cross-functional forums and with senior leadership, ensuring visibility and alignment across the organization.
  • Define and evolve the technical roadmap: Translate business priorities into a clear, executable technical vision and roadmap spanning all four engineering domains.
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence: Establish team processes for incident management, code review, and continuous improvement that raise the bar and enable your teams to ship reliable, scalable systems.

Who you are: 

  • 5+ years of engineering experience, with 2+ years in an engineering management or technical leadership role at a high-growth technology company.
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams across diverse technical domains in a fast-paced environment.
