A Day in the Life
The ENT Operating Unit is a global leader in innovative solutions that improve patient access, outcomes, and satisfaction. We partner closely with clinicians to deliver technologies across image-guided surgery, nerve monitoring, powered instruments, and emerging therapies that enhance patient care worldwide.
As a Test Engineer II, you will play a critical role in developing and validating hardware and embedded software for ENT products. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, execute, and automate testing strategies that ensure product quality, performance, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute V&V test plans and protocols and produce audit-ready reports. Assess Design Inputs (DIs) and define effective verification strategies to ensure compliance.
Follow internal quality processes and generate required documentation, including traceability matrices and V&V summary reports, to meet regulatory standards.
Develop and validate non-product software for test fixtures, including supporting documentation.
Identify, document, and track defects from manual and automated testing; support root cause analysis and recommend solutions.
Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and proper handling of edge cases.
Collaborate cross-functionally (electronics lab, mechanical, electrical, and NPD teams) to design and build test fixtures for system verification.
Create and release fixture validation specifications, test plans, and reports in PLM systems.
Develop and execute TMV protocols, ensuring methods are robust, repeatable, and reproducible.
Perform Gauge R&R and other statistical analyses to validate test methods.
Define acceptance criteria aligned with engineering and quality requirements.
Ensure all TMV and V&V activities comply with FDA QSR and ISO 13485 standards.

As part of our commitment to innovation, this position requires 5 days a week onsite presence to accelerate problem-solving, build trust across teams, and elevate the capabilities of our program management community.
Must Have (Required Qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with minimum of 2 years of testing experience within medical devices or regulated environment, OR
Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with minimum of 0 years of testing experience within medical devices or regulated environment
Nice to Have (Preferred Skills);
Experience with Test Method Validation (TMV) in a regulated medical device
Strong statistical analysis skills, including Gauge R&R and data‑driven decision making
Proficiency in test automation frameworks, scripting languages, and test infrastructure development
Working knowledge of FDA QSR, ISO 13485, and software validation expectations
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
