As a Senior Copywriter, you’ll be a part of this Target Creative team and help drive and lead the marketing presence of our brand. You’ll develop innovative and effective creative solutions that build brand equity, strengthen guest loyalty and, ultimately, drive the business forward. Specifically, you’ll use your skills, experience and talents to develop big-picture and innovative ideas for advertising campaigns inclusive of all media channels, while working closely in collaboration with a broad range of internal creative partners and teams. You’ll then be responsible for bringing each idea to life by crafting scripts, headlines and supporting copy that are consistently in tune with the Target brand voice and grounded in each project’s individual strategy. You’ll also help lead in the preparation of pitches and presentations, as well as see all work through every phase of production.
In this position, you’ll ultimately champion the company’s purpose, values and direction, while supporting Target Creative’s strategies, goals and objectives. You must be comfortable starting with a blank page and working with ambiguity, as well as having the ability to take on a wide range of projects and balance a large capacity of work across all media types. You’ll be challenged to stay current with cultural and writing trends and seek creative solutions to overcome obstacles. In addition, you’ll be asked to step in to lead and guide work when needed while providing coaching, mentorship and guidance when appropriate to enhance others’ skill development. About You
· 4-year college degree and/or equivalent experience
· 5+ years advertising creative experience
· Portfolio of creative work showcasing exceptional ideation and conceptual writing across a wide range of business or brand categories and channels, including script writing and motion/video production
· Deep knowledge and experience executing campaigns across all media types
· Idea-first messaging approach and ability to apply a strategic lens to writing
· Skilled in managing and executing complex projects at many different stages
· Strong collaboration, interpersonal communication and presentation skills
