CACI is seeking an Electronic Assembly Technician - Senior Level reporting daily to CACI's San Antonio, TX facility.

The Opportunity:

  • Fabricates, assembles, and operates equipment, test apparatus, test equipment and other related equipment as needed for the assembly of electrical / electronic systems.
  • Assembles and constructs electrical / electronic systems by component according to the engineering drawing with knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measurement instruments.  
  • Trouble-shoots electrical / electronic equipment and circuitry, data collection devices, and analytical instrumentation using modern electronic testing equipment and measurement instruments. Determines material or replacement needs and a logical method for repair; takes appropriate action to meet those needs and makes repairs.  
  • Determines electronic and electro-mechanical system design and instrumentation needs from limited documentation, written, and verbal instructions.    
  • Determines the sequence of operations and provides design details or recommends modifications to engineering designs.  


Responsibilities:


Responsible for electrical / electronic equipment assembling to include but not limited to - Circuit Card Assemblies, Cable Assemblies, Enclosures / Electronic Assemblies. While applying technical knowledge and practical concepts, processes, and methods related to technical systems and components. Provides guidance, technical direction, analysis and support for the fabrication, design, development, assembly, integration, testing, documentation, implementation, and sustainment of any of a variety of hardware, software, and integrated product solutions. Interfaces with vendor support service groups to maintain knowledge and resolve technical problems.

Qualifications:


Required:

  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Seven years of knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings and electrical / electronic schematics.   
  • Seven years of education or experience with assembling, wiring, soldering, and crimping per drawing specifications, modification per engineering change notices, and electrical circuit testing.   
  • Seven years of education or experience in assembly of sheet metal fixtures and enclosures, cable assemblies, connectors, and circuit card assemblies.
  • Experience in low-rate production and electronic manufacturing operations
  • Experience with ISO-9000 or AS-9100-certification programs 
  • Familiar with in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and works well in a small team environment 
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Certifications or ability to obtain certifications with our on-site trainers:  
  • IPC J-STD-001 (Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies) (P)
  • IPC WHMA-A-620 (Cable & Wire harness Assemblies) (P)
  • IPC-A610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies. 

Desired:

  • Technical bachelor’s degree
  • Experience using an ERP system 
  • Experience operating a laser cutter 
  • Experience inventorying/maintaining a hazardous materials program
  • Experience mentoring or training other technicians
