About this opportunity:
Cenovus Energy has an opportunity for a Commercial Transactions Manager based in Dublin, Ohio, with accountability for end-to-end commercial actualization across U.S. and Canadian refined products portfolios. The role provides single-point accountability for transactional pricing, inventory actuals, fee management, and settlement readiness, partnering across Front, Middle, and Back Office teams to ensure accurate and timely Order-to-Cash execution.
What you’ll do:
Build and lead a Commercial Transactions team responsible for commercial actualization across U.S. and Canadian refined products portfolios.
Oversee the accurate and timely execution of commercial transactions, including movements, fees, inventory reconciliation, and settlement readiness.
Ensure smooth day-to-day transaction operations, resolving issues that impact delivery, invoicing, settlement, or financial reporting.
Partner with trading, operations, finance, and accounting teams to support a seamless end-to-end Order-to-Cash process.
Establish strong operating controls and performance metrics to monitor transaction quality, timeliness, and risk.
Drive improvements in processes, data quality, and systems to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.
Support compliance, audit, and internal control requirements by ensuring transactions align with contractual and regulatory expectations.
Who you are:
Legally authorized to work in the US
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or economics
12+ years of progressive experience in commodity marketing, commercial operations, or transaction management within physical energy commodities
Experience leading or overseeing teams, including coaching, performance management, and work prioritization
Functional knowledge of ETRM systems (RightAngle and Allegro) supporting physical transaction actualization and settlement
Strong understanding of physical commodity transaction lifecycles, including volumes, pricing, invoicing, settlement, and financial close
Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally with Trading, Scheduling, Risk, Accounting, and other stakeholders
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
