Real-World Data & Clinical Informatics Data Engineer, Senior

The Opportunity:

As a Data Engineer, you will support the development and maintenance of scalable data stores that supply big data and real-world data in forms needed for data analysis. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support our data-driven initiatives, including developing robust Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes to integrate data from various sources into our data ecosystem, and designing and maintaining data models, schemas, and database structures to support analytical and operational use cases. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of our data systems and solutions.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience with the entire ETL pipeline, including data acquisition, data preparation, and database architecture with accompanying codebooks, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories

  • 3+ years of experience with programming languages, such as Python, R, or SQL

  • 2+ years of experience in AWS and big data ecosystems

  • Experience building real-time data processing applications

  • Experience with GitHub

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Bioinformatics

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with AI or ML pipelines and processes

  • Experience with Multi Cloud environments

  • Experience with Metadata Management

  • Experience in working with federal public health agencies

  • Possession of excellent communication skills  

  • Master's degree preferred; Doctorate degree a plus

  • PMP Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
