Medical Affairs Associate - VIE Contract

iMove, the Sanofi VIE Program, is available to citizens of the European Economic Area (EU + Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland) aged between 18 and 28.

As Medical Affairs Associate VIE within our Global Medical Immunology team, you’ll provide the capacity to develop integrated portfolio roadmaps, optimize governance frameworks, and craft compelling internal and external communications that align global and local stakeholders around a unified franchise vision.

Main responsibilities:

Portfolio & Cross-Therapeutic Area Alignment:

  • Develop integrated strategic roadmaps across therapeutic areas to maximize portfolio impact and identify high-value collaboration opportunities
  • Analyze portfolio interdependencies and recommend strategic prioritization to optimize R&D resource allocation and competitive positioning, lead strategic portfolio reviews by synthesizing medical and competitive insights that drive executive decision-making.
  • Partner with therapeutic area leads to identify emerging opportunities and shape franchise strategy.

Strategic Communications & Stakeholder Alignment:

  • Craft compelling portfolio narratives and messaging strategies that align global and local Medical Affairs with cross-functional R&D priorities.
  • Design communication strategies that position the Immunology franchise strategically within the broader R&D landscape and external stakeholder ecosystem, develop internal and external communication plans that enhance portfolio positioning and competitive differentiation.
  • Build collaborative partnerships across therapeutic areas, functions, and key markets to strengthen strategic alignment and optimize stakeholder engagement.

Strategic Innovation Initiatives:

  • Drive execution of cross-TA strategic initiatives that advance competitive advantage and franchise growth.
  • Identify and recommend strategic innovations to enhance franchise positioning and operational excellence.
  • Shape strategic frameworks that improve decision-making processes and cross-functional collaboration.

About you

Experience:

  • At least 1 year full-time working experience in pharmaceutical industry, medical affairs, or R&D strategy roles.
  • Experience with clinical development processes and FDA/EMA regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiatives.

Soft and technical skills:

  • Strategic mindset with focus on high-impact outcomes and ability to see the big picture, analytical capabilities with ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations.
  • Proactive problem-solving with ability to anticipate organizational needs and recommend solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with executive presence and ability to influence senior leaders, capability to build partnerships and establish credibility with senior stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Change leadership orientation with willingness to challenge the status quo and advance organizational improvements, collaborative approach to shaping cross-functional teams and building consensus.
  • Highest integrity and commitment to excellence in strategic execution, intellectual curiosity and passion for immunological innovation.
  • Ability to work independently in complex matrix organizations and drive strategic recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical R&D processes, strategic frameworks, R&D strategic planning methodologies and portfolio optimization approaches.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), SharePoint, and project management tools.
  • Exceptional project management skills with ability to advance multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to identify patterns, connect strategic dots across silos, and recommend high-impact solutions.

Education:

  • Master's degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, or related field.

Languages:

  • Strong proficiency in English (written and spoken).
