Northrop Grumman Strategic Deterrent Systems Division is seeking a Sr. Staff Systems Engineer (Software Integration and Test). This position will be in Huntsville, AL supporting the Advanced Programs organization.

What You’ll Get To Do:

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for a growing Advanced Programs team, focusing on the preliminary design and technology maturation of concepts for the Sea-Launched Cruise Missile–Nuclear (SLCM-N) cruise missile and its supporting subsystems. The candidate will demonstrate a steadfast commitment to ethics and integrity while fostering an innovative culture that challenges traditional business practices. Operating within an advanced design environment, they will collaborate across the division and with external suppliers to transition cutting-edge solutions and advanced concepts into formal programs of record for U.S. strategic deterrence.

In this role, the candidate will lead the development and maturation of software architecture and interfaces for both developmental test flights and operational configurations. They will direct software integration, validation, and verification efforts on complex cruise missile subsystems, spanning the lifecycle from early hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing to final checkout. Furthermore, the candidate will be responsible for aligning and coordinating the execution of development, integration, and certification for Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) releases, ensuring all technical maturation plans and test activities are captured in a detailed hardware and software integration roadmap.

Responsibilities also include contributing to systems engineering deliverables to produce credible weapon system designs that meet specific performance, cost, and schedule thresholds. The candidate will identify technical risks and opportunities, developing robust mitigation and capture plans for the development test strategy. Additionally, they will support the creation of compliant and compelling responses to Request for Proposal/Request for Solution (RFP/RFS) requirements, providing critical test and integration content for technical proposal volumes, including system architecture descriptions and technical baseline definitions for Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) phase programs.
