Job Description
Accenture Federal Services is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise-scale network architectures within hybrid cloud environments supporting government customers. This role focuses on building secure, resilient network infrastructure that bridges on-premises classified environments with cloud platforms—ensuring reliable connectivity, compliance, and operational excellence across the full network stack. This role operates at the intersection of traditional network engineering and cloud-native networking, requiring expertise in hybrid connectivity patterns, software-defined networking, and infrastructure-as-code practices applied to network resources.
What you’ll do:
- Design and implement secure hybrid network architectures across on‑prem data centers, virtualized environments, and cloud platforms (primarily AWS).
- Build and maintain hybrid connectivity solutions including Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, site‑to‑site VPN, and multi‑account network designs.
- Develop and deliver Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for consistent, repeatable network deployments.
- Implement routing, segmentation, firewall policies, and network security controls aligned with government requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues across physical, virtual, and cloud layers.
- Support cloud migration and network modernization initiatives to improve performance, cost, and resilience.
- Work within Agile teams, contributing to sprints, prototypes, and rapid iteration.
- Collaborate with engineers, government personnel, and cross‑functional teams in secure on‑site environments
What you’ll need:
- 6 years designing, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise network architectures
- 3 years designing and managing hybrid cloud network solutions (on‑prem + cloud)
- 3 years AWS networking experience (e.g. VPC design, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53, load balancing, security groups, NACLs)
- Experience implementing routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and enterprise switching (e.g. VLANs, LAG, spanning tree)
- Experience configuring firewalls and security appliances (e.g. Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/FTD, Fortinet, or similar)
- Experience with VPN technologies: e.g. IPsec, SSL VPN, cloud gateway VPNs
- Hands‑on experience with DNS, DHCP, IPAM, SNMP, and/or network monitoring tools
- Familiarity with DISA STIGs, NIST 800‑53, or government compliance frameworks
Bonus points if you have:
- Azure or Oracle Cloud networking experience (VNet/VCN, ExpressRoute/FastConnect, firewalls, DNS, load balancing).
- Experience with network automation or Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
- Multi‑cloud networking design and cloud migration experience.
- SDN/NFV or SD‑WAN expertise (Cisco Viptela, VMware VeloCloud, etc.).
- Experience with Kubernetes networking, CNI plugins, or service mesh (Istio, Linkerd).
- Advanced observability and telemetry experience (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK).
- High‑performance computing network design experience.
- Certifications such as AWS Advanced Networking, CCNP/CCIE, PCNSE, Security+, Azure/OCI cloud certs.
- Experience mentoring engineers, leading technical initiatives, or presenting to leadership.
