Job Summary

The Principal Product Manager owns and drives strategic relationships with senior healthcare executives while leading the discovery and development of high-impact AI solutions. They are responsible for translating strategic alignment with the client into effective and useful tools to transform the client’s business. This senior client-facing role requires traveling to health system sites to lead high-stakes discovery sessions, deeply understand complex clinical and operational workflows, and translate those insights into validated AI product opportunities.

Principal Product Managers work closely with customers to explore workflows, prototype solutions, and de-risk ideas before engineering investment, ensuring that the right problems are solved and that solutions are grounded in real-world healthcare operations. From early customer engagement through deployment and scale, they help architect AI assistants and workflow automation solutions that deliver measurable operational and clinical impact.

In parallel, the Principal Product Managers evolves into managing a team of Product Managers, guiding them through discovery, solution design, and client engagement while establishing high standards for product rigor and delivery. The ideal candidate combines senior management consulting or product leadership experience with a strong technical understanding of LLM-powered applications, proven team leadership capabilities, and the executive presence required to navigate complex C-suite conversations. This role reports to Product Leadership and is accountable for both client success and the development of scalable product solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Product Discovery

  • Lead deep workflow discovery with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to understand current-state processes, pain points, and sources of inefficiency
  • Identify high-value opportunities across core value pools such as revenue cycle, care gap identification and closure, hospital throughput, and administrative operations
  • Translate ambiguous customer problems into structured product opportunities through opportunity assessments, success metrics, and acceptance criteria
  • Rapidly prototype AI assistants, abstractors, and workflow solutions using internal builder tools and standardized design patterns to test feasibility and refine requirements
  • Validate prototypes with frontline users to ensure solutions align with real-world workflows and drive measurable operational impact
  • De-risk product development by testing data availability, workflow fit, and model performance prior to engineering investment
  • Produce structured discovery artifacts, including workflow analysis, solution drafts, data mappings, interface concepts, and prototype testing logs, to enable engineering-ready product specifications
  • Drive gated go/no-go decisions on whether opportunities should advance to engineering build, based on customer validation, technical feasibility, and expected ROI
  • Partner closely with Technical Product Managers and Engineering to transition validated prototypes into scalable platform products
