Job Description
Team Description
SumUp's People Operations team keeps things running for SumUppers across the globe — and in Poland, that work is growing fast. Our Warsaw office has 35 people today, with plans to grow significantly by the end of the year, and this role sits right at the heart of that expansion.
You'll work closely with the People Ops & Payroll Lead, building real ownership of people administration and payroll processes in a market where accuracy and local expertise genuinely matter. If you're curious about how People Ops and payroll work in practice and want structured support to grow into increasing responsibility, this is where that journey starts.
This is an office-first role, placing you at the centre of day-to-day people operations and the employee experience in Poland. You’ll be a visible, trusted point of contact for employees and contractors in the Warsaw office, supporting them through key moments in the employee lifecycle. You’ll receive structured onboarding, close guidance, and hands-on exposure to People Operations and Payroll processes, with increasing responsibility as you grow.
What You’ll Do
- Handle day-to-day People Ops administration for Poland employees and contractors, including processing lifecycle changes in Workday and preparing employment documentation
- Support payroll preparation and execution for in-house employees, ensuring data accuracy and meeting deadlines
- Manage administrative processes for B2B contractors, including invoice coordination and contract documentation
- Become a reliable point of contact for Poland-based employees and contractors on People Ops and payroll-related queries
- Support audits and compliance checks related to Polish labour law and payroll regulations
- Learn and gradually take ownership of end-to-end payroll processes, with close guidance and structured development support
You'll be great for this role if
- You’re fluent in Polish and English, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently
- You have some background in HR, People Ops, administration, or a related field
- Accuracy and attention to detail come naturally to you, especially when working with people data
- Working with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office feels second nature
- You have a foundational understanding of Polish labour law and payroll principles
Nice to have
- Familiarity with tools such as Workday, Notion, Jira, or Slack
- Interest in automation, AI, or finding smarter ways to work
Ways of working
- You’re curious, proactive, and eager to learn
- You’re organised, reliable, and comfortable juggling priorities
- You adapt well to change and aren’t afraid to ask questions
- You communicate clearly and enjoy working closely with others
