System Development Engineer, AWS Payments CORE

AWS Payments CORE is responsible for building and maintaining the shared backbone infrastructure supporting AWS Payments systems, Enabling a streamlined software development lifecycle, And ensuring a strong operational posture within the broader Payments orginization

Key job responsibilities
A system Development Engineer in the Payments Core team Will be responsible for:

-Building and maintaining services integral to the AWS Payments Ecosystem.

-Identifying and developing processes, tools, automation, and software changes top development painpoints

-Working in close collaboration with software development leadership and product management to shape the future roadmap

-Partnering with software developers to establish strong operational readiness across teams

-Leading change to develop simple, elegant solutions to complex operational, security, audit, or reliability challenges

Basic Qualifications

- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with distributed systems at scale
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
