Job Responsibilities:

Magna is seeking a motivated System Test Engineer to join our New Mobility team in Lowell, Massachusetts. In this role, you will participate in designing, developing, and executing system‑level test strategies for our Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) product line. You will collaborate closely with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams to verify product functionality, ensure requirements coverage, and drive continuous improvement in test processes.
This is a full‑time onsite position working with cutting‑edge robotics technology and contributing to the growth of next‑generation autonomous mobility solutions.
What you will be doing in this role:
• Execute system‑level validation activities for autonomous mobile robots, including test planning, test case development, and hands‑on testing.
• Contribute to developing validation frameworks and methodologies.
• Perform risk‑based testing and support prioritization of validation efforts for critical subsystems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment with requirements and program milestones.
• Assist in identifying root causes of field and test issues, working with hardware and software teams on resolution.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and results using industry‑standard tools.
• Support implementation of test automation, data collection systems, and instrumentation setups.
• Prepare clear documentation and reports on test results, coverage status, and quality‑related metrics.
What you should bring to this role
• BS in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required.
• 2+ years of experience in robotics, automotive, aerospace, industrial automation, or similar fields required.
• Hands‑on experience with system‑level testing of complex electromechanical or robotics systems.
• Familiarity with requirements management and test case traceability tools (e.g., TestRail, DOORS, Jama).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, particularly in integrated HW/SW environments.
• Working knowledge of Linux‑based systems and basic understanding of embedded systems.
•  Familiarity with test automation tools, CI/CD environments, or infrastructure (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, pytest frameworks)
• Experience with Agile development practices and issue‑tracking tools such as JIRA.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams.

Hiring Base Salary Range: $66,880 - $124,200 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). In addition to base salary, some positions are eligible for an annual performance based bonus.
