Sony Electronics is looking for a Social and Digital Media Intern to join our Marketing Communications, Personal Entertainment team. Do you have a passion for music, gaming, and tech? Are you a digital native who loves consuming media online and connecting with others across social platforms? Responsibilities
Support media campaigns by maintaining a content tracker
Work across strategy, media, and creative teams to create, traffic, and organize creative media
Collaborate with the social media team to engage with online communities across owned and emerging platforms
Assist with community engagement and moderation across platforms such as Discord, Twitch, and Reddit, helping maintain respectful, brand‑safe conversations
Monitor community conversations to surface trends, sentiment, and insights that can inform content and campaign planning
Support research projects including target audience insights, competitive analysis, and trend tracking
Assist with media campaign reporting and performance summaries
Connect with and learn alongside our media agency partners
Work with internal creative teams to help develop content for media and social campaigns
Minimum Requirements
Program will run through August 2026
Able to commit 20–40 hours per week: (In‑office Tuesday-Thursday, remote Monday, Friday)
Rising junior or senior in a collegiate program with a 3.0 GPA or above
Previous internship experience in marketing, media, communications, or digital content
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of social media platforms, including emerging and community‑driven spaces
Familiarity with or interest in Discord, Twitch, Reddit, and live or community‑based platforms
Ability to engage thoughtfully and professionally in public or semi‑public online spaces
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
Professional demeanor with a strong desire to learn and grow
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Willingness to travel or work weekend events as needed
Preferred Skills
Fresh ideas and cultural awareness from your own social and digital ecosystem
Strong organizational skills with a sharp eye for detail
Comfort working in Excel and PowerPoint
Confidence and curiosity to share ideas and contribute to discussions
Enthusiasm, positivity, and a willingness to collaborate and learn in a fast‑paced environment
Genuine interest in online communities, creators, and digital culture
The anticipated hourly wage for this position is between $19.80 to $26.40. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base wage offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
