Job Description Summary

The Statutory Accountant supports the preparation of statutory financial reporting and audit activities within the EMEA Center of Excellence (COE). The role works closely with senior team members and Country Controllers to ensure accurate and timely local GAAP reporting, statutory compliance, and audit readiness across multiple jurisdictions.

This position contributes to the statutory reporting process from group close through preparation of financial statements and supporting documentation, while collaborating with controllers, tax teams, and auditors. The role also supports process improvements, standardization efforts, and regional finance initiatives.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Statutory Reporting & Local GAAP Compliance

- Assist in the preparation of GAAP-to-STAT reconciliation (GAAP to local statutory walk).

- Perform initial review of group trial balances and support the identification and posting of local GAAP adjustments, reclassifications, and corrections.

- Support the preparation of statutory financial statements, disclosures, and supporting schedules for review by senior team members and Country Controllers.

- Ensure assigned tasks are completed in line with local statutory requirements, deadlines, and documentation standards.

- Support administrative aspects of statutory filings, including coordination of required legal documentation and approvals.

- Provide statutory financial data, including local GAAP results and adjustments, to support tax calculations and filings.

Audit Management & External Auditor Coordination

- Support statutory audits by preparing requested documentation and responding to auditor queries.

- Coordinate and track audit requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses.

- Review data and documentation before submission to auditors to ensure completeness and consistency.

- Provide explanations and analysis to support audit inquiries, escalating complex matters where needed.

Process Improvement & Regional Initiatives

- Contribute to the standardization and documentation of statutory processes, including development of templates and working papers.

- Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation of best practices across entities.

- Support regional initiatives such as legal entity rationalization, statutory tool implementation, and tax audits.

- Assist in improving data quality, transparency, and efficiency within statutory reporting processes.

Requirements

- Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or controllership within a multinational environment.

- Strong understanding of statutory accounting principles.

- Experience with ERP systems and financial software.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

- Familiarity with internal controls and compliance.
